[livejournal.com profile] kareila, [livejournal.com profile] coderlemming and I decided the other day that hotel HVAC units just plain suck. Why can't they be controlled by a thermostat instead of just pumping out hot or cold until you turn them off by hand? Our room was freezing when we got there, so we put the heat on high, and woke up somewhat dehydrated the first night. I found a reasonable setting in low heat mode, with the temperature dialed all the way to the cool side. Sort of like asking it to blow room-temperature air, which worked out ok.
