Hmmm

Has anyone else noticed that "viewing the thread" directly from the email Livejournal sends us only shows us the comment we might reply to and not the entire thread?
I think I prefered it the old way. :P

I got an email from LiveJournal because [livejournal.com profile] kareila had replied to something I'd written. But in the email it showed what she had replied to, and it wasn't something that -I- had written. I was confused, so I clicked on "follow thread" or whatever it is. Showed me the exact same thing. So I went to my journal page and browsed around. Know what I found? It was the post about Apple users being evil and such... I had gotten Kar's reply to your reply to her post before any of the other email reminders. So that was messed up, and also the fact that LJ's thread-crap had shown that -I- said what you ([livejournal.com profile] lite) had typed.

If that all made sense. :

I've actually never used that. I check e-mail, see that I've gotten comments and who they are from, and then respond to them on the website. For some reason, responding directly from e-mail only works if I use web-based e-mail, not when I use Entourage or Outlook.

*shrugs* Ah, the wonders of technology.

I think it's supposed to show you the thread starting at that point, so you'd also see any comments made to that comment... but it is kind of dumb.

I am pretty sure if you look carefully at the top you will see if the response is to "a post you made in your journal" or "a comment that someone else left in your journal" but again it's easy to miss. Their formatting needs help.
