So after a week of vacation, I got the news that I got accepted into the USACE's Leader Development Program (LDP-2). It's something I applied to a couple months ago and was hoping to get into. It's a class where we'll do some learning, some group activities, some reading and some self-assessment, learning out strengths and weaknesses as leaders and helping to grow.

Theoretically, it's a way to get to know the inner workings of the Corps, and a chance to signal to leaders that you are a leader. I'm sure it looks good on a resume whenever I finally go out for something of that nature.

At the very least, it's a way to separate myself from my peers within my unit and my section. And I am both excited and slightly honored to have the chance to be a part of this class.

More to come as there's something to say. For now, I wait to get my course material. Class starts early October.

comments
