Today's Thoughts

First and Foremost,

HEPPY BIRFDAY [livejournal.com profile] rhayden!!

(from the originator of Heppy Birfday... me! :D)

Secondly, I'm going to speak a tad about my last post. I know I came off as a tad... jerky.
I'm going to be honest when I say that I realized how I sounded as I posted. Sometime near the beginning of the season, I felt as I'd gotten into a competition of sorts with [livejournal.com profile] kareila on whose team was the best. In the first couple weeks, New England was winning pretty well and I know I felt that Kar had crowed a bit when New England had beat the Jets, the team we lost against our first game.
Let me state, first and foremost, that I couldn't really care about New England (or for that matter any other team) except in as much as I want our team to beat theirs. I wish no ill will past that they lose to us.
New England is vaguely special in that they did give us their older quarterback who is doing wonderful things in Buffalo, but past that I don't care whether they win or lose (again, except to us). I had no idea that they were on a losing streak until [livejournal.com profile] kareila mentioned it (see last week's post).
So, in essence, I probably made a bigger ass of myself than I needed to yesterday and I'll try to let the past drop (that is unless someone wants to crow about how their team beat another team we lost to?) and just enjoy our reinvigorated Bills Team playing.
I'm still looking forward to Sunday. I really do enjoy stadium games. Despite the fact that it looks like the weather is going to be bloody cold and miserable. Still, I'll go and enjoy myself anyways. Go Bills!

I'm getting frustrated with Zoo Tycoon. I keep trying to make a big park, but after year two, my guests get unhappier and unhappier and I can't seem to do anything about it :/ I posted to [livejournal.com profile] zootycoons and got some advice I'll try to put into action when I next get a chance to play which shall hopefully be soon.

What else? I'm meeting with my advisor at 10:00 and we're going to talk about my project. I'm a little behind and I'm not thrilledhappy about it, but hopefully we can get caught up soon.

Only Four Days till the TMBG Concert! ^.^ *.* ^.^

That's all I can think of to say at the moment.

I'm sorry you felt you were competing with me. You're the only friend I have here who watches football and I don't want it to become a bad thing where we can't talk about it because we root for opposing teams, but a good thing where we share the love of the game.

I don't remember at all gloating about the fact that we beat a team you lost to. I may have mentioned the fact and you read into it, but gloating isn't really my style anyway. I know that whoever's up one week will most likely be down again the next.

Anyway, have fun at your game and at the TMBG concert.

Well, I apologize then if I read it wrong. Yes, it does seem that, as far as my friends go, you are the only other friends online who cares for American Football. I can't imagine why. It's at least as exciting and athletic as other sports such as Baseball (ugh) or Soccer.
I'll try to gloat less or at least gloat less in such a sense as to seem anti-Patriots.

I think many geeks must avoid sports on general principles or something. :) I don't pay any attention to baseball either, unless the Red Sox get into the playoffs, then it's hard to avoid it because everyone in Boston goes nuts. Does Buffalo have a baseball team?

In college football I see these cycles all the time... like, Auburn beat LSU, LSU beat Florida, Florida beat Auburn - so who's supposed to be better? A few teams win all but one or two of their games and stay at the top of the polls, but after that it's anyone's guess. Auburn seems to bounce in and out of the top 25 every other week.

No, we have a professional hockey team (the Sabres) that everyone goes nuts about, but not baseball (well, not MAJOR League Baseball).

I enjoy soccer, but other than that I try to avoid sports. They just don't interest me. My family were cheering on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers (CFL) yesterday, and I was desperately trying to find something to do that didn't involve watching. *sigh*

I read that as Zooty Coons.

Who or what is a Zooty Coon?
A Racoon evil like Zoot?

I see.

Me too. Great minds think alike, eh.
