Running GAGG and even more Kristenness (Cuteness Warning)
Greetings Citizens! The computer has ordered me to give a report of my experience in the past, at an event known as the "Running Gagg" (a curious title).
I did have a good weekend at Running GAGG. It was way too short, but what I did get to experience was cool :)
We ended up getting there JUST at 1:00, just in time for Session 5. I was scheduled to play "Rescue on Europa", but I got there, got into the right area, waited... waited.. waited some more. Ended up finding out that.. the event had been cancelled. D'oh! Looked at the schedule and walked into "Web Cam: When Spiders Attack!" 30 minutes late. That said, no problem.. they made room for me and they were only in the middle of chargen so I grabbed a pregenerated character and hung out and waited. The game started two hours into the session and.. well.. the point was.. in a 24th centure science fiction future, we were participants in a.. reality show. Local heroes vs. a nest full of nasty huge spiders (think Shelob but bigger!).
I ended up playing a Medic, which in and of itself was a good idea, except that I never got to do anything with my medic abilities. I did get to shoot, though.. once.. and gave a team member a concussion. That was fun! :)
So Session 5 was fun :)
Got out, found Kristen, and she wants to get in on a Pizza Dinner ordered by
lwoodbloo,
sattruckguy and other peoples. So we end up getting in on it for $4 each, but there wasn't much pizza or wings left, so neither of us was really full.
Then there was the auction. I had looked over the tables at 5:00 and there WERE some really interesting things, but I was only willing to spend $20 on goods while I was there. Anyways, at the end of the auction, they offered Chez Geek 2: Slack Attack and Chez Greek (Chez Geek in a fraternity/sorority) together..and Kristen and I won them for $30. :D So I got to bring home Chez Geek 2 and Kristen keeps Chez Greek :)
Onto the next session, Paranoia! run by
lwoodbloo who basically forced
ecwoodburn who doesn't really RP to play. I've never played tabletop Paranoia, but I have played it LARP style. Tabletop is just as amusing. My character was an intel officer out to get the commie mutants but I was pretending to be an exercise officer. And.. completely unexpected.. one of my jobs was.. to kill Kristen's character (who could not be killed, at least by Laser Blaster. Bastard!) Paranoia was a gut-wrench laugh-out-loud game and I think even Kristen would play again in a heartbeat (and possibly anything else designed to be as funny :) Yay for being open :) )
After Paranoia, Kristen, myself,
lwoodbloo,
sattruckguy and friends all headed out to Dennys were we hung out until 1:00. After that, home we went.
I won't get into what was discussed, but something was discussed at Dennys that made Kristen and I think.
Kristen and I really do have a wonderful relationship. Not perfect, but certainly good in certain ways. We communicate. We accept each other, despite our imperfections. We are becoming increasingly important to each other to the point where somewhere along the way, I'll admit I stopped thinking of
kareila as my best friend and started thinking of Kristen in that position. It's.. just nice on so many levels. There's more, alot more.. and.. I can't really get that out too well, but...
Well, the point is that we've got a pretty darned good relationship.
And that makes me happy :)
So... yeah. Gonna post now :)
