Sick and grumpy

I started feeling sick yesterday. It's not gone away yet. I'm hot, overly sweat and my throat hurts. This is the second time I've felt bad this summer. WTF is with these summer illnesses???
Sometimes I hate living at home. This is one of them. I don't understand WHY, but the damn house is a disease vector. No one coughs in each other's face, but at the same time, the moment one of us gets sick, the other two inevitably do. This one is Josh's fault.. he brought it home, infected mom who probably infected me.
Hopefully I'm better by the 11th. I'm going to Darien Lake one way or the other, even if I'm going half-dead.

I had dinner with my father last night. This IS a big deal. This is my father's acquiescence to the fact that his wife and I hate each other. We went over to the Olive Garden. It was good and it wasn't too uncomfortable.

It looks like arabella and Kareila can make it to Darien Lake. I'm really excited :) It should be a GREAT Time :)

That's all I gotta say for now. Wish me luck in getting rid of the sickies quickly =P

Take some echinacea (you can get it at most health food stores and drugstores) two pills every two hours until you start to feel better. Should build up your immune resistance. Also, go with the Vitamin C, 1000 to 1500 mg/day.

PS - Which kitten is that in your picture (the Siamese - I think the grey one is Mouse if I'm not mistaken?)?

The gray one is Smokey
The white siamese is Mouse
The Black one (not shown) is Mystery
AND the Striped Tabby is Cleo (again not shown)

Being sick sucks. Good luck getting over it! I'll give you a bundle of my immune system if I could... I like never get sick, and I never take vitamins either. But yeah, vitamin C is good, echinacea is good too. I would say some ginko biloba but isn't that for energy and not for getting over stuff? What about some super blue green algea! Never held much stock in the stuff, but who knows, it could help you. Well, ttyl. Peace.

In general, Blue-Green algae isn't good for you. Some Blue-Green algae, Microcystis included (I THINK Microcystis is a blue-green algae) is really toxic.

The stuff grown in Klamath Falls, Oregon, and sold in health food stores all over... it's not toxic, I know, I've had tons of it. Didn't do anything for me, but it didn't kill me. :)

would it be pointless to point out that they're cyanobacteria, not algae?

if you really want details, i'll give 'em to you. my stupid advisors are forcing me to learn about cyanobacteria.

The algae of which you speak is similar to spirulina, (if it's not the same thing - I always thought they were the same thing for some reason) and is perfectly safe - a protein supplement. Some people get energy highs off of it. I have no idea why - it's never happened to me personally - but trust me, it's safe, I'm pregnant and I was taking it for awhile (only reason I stopped is that I haven't bought any more).
As far as gingko - that's mainly more for mental alertness and increasing blood flow to the brain - useful for intellectual pursuits, but if you want more energy as such it may not work as well. I take that too, at least partially because my long-term memory isn't so great.
OK, now that I'm done a string of naturopathic ramblings, I toddle. Hope this helps.
