But the world is going to hell.
The world is going to hell in a handbasket.
An unjustified war with Iraq.
Terrorism.
Nuclear Proliferation.
Abuses from the top down: The Catholic Church, Big Business, Celebrities of all sorts, our own governments.
Kids bringing guns into school.
Hate for anyone who doesn't look or sound or act like you.
A Proliferation of random senseless deaths and violence and the romanticism of such.

I can't stop this. I can't make a difference to the big picture. If I'm lucky, the best I can do is keep a semblance of stability and peace to my own little corner of the world filled with good people stuck in the same shitpot I'm in.
I'm just being forced along for the ride.
I'm beginning to think that even if all the good people in the world rose up and took the reigns and made a real difference, that it would be too late.

Hooray for well-deserved fatalism.

Yes, I agree. I've known this for years. But... oh well.

Not sure if you meant to say this or not, but this line here:

...if all the good people in the world rose up and took the reigns and made a real difference...

...is one screamingly good play on words.

As for the rest of your post... *pats you on the head* Dunno what to say. I'd love to say, "Don't worry, everything'll be all right," or some such empty homily, but I suspect that you're absolutely right, and it won't be. I'm sorry the world sucks, and wish I could do something to make it better for you. For everyone.

*sigh*

I've linked to this site before... you ought to look at LewRockwell.com (http://www.lewrockwell.com). It has about 12 articles and/or links per day... All of which are free-market, and most of which are anti-government (most believe in no government, a few believe in very limited government), and anti-war (and anti-Bush). It also has some really good sarcasm and mockeries every once and a while.

I've been reading it since October. It's good stuff. It's extreme, compared to most of what's out there, though there's a number of people on various MU*s that I'm on that share the same viewpoints of the site, as I do.
