(I can't help but think this is inspired by TMBG. It just sounds vaguely TMBGish to me.)
This could probably use a brush up. I'm literally writing it as I go. I'll edit it later. Let inspiration go first.

Follow Me
I've heard everything you said.
I've heard everything you wouldn't say.
Your words are like rain on catgut strings,
like sulfur on a hot summer night.
You think the thoughts you shouldn't think
and sing the satanic symphony.
You walk the darkened path,
alone, confused, hurt.
Follow me. I know the way out.

I want to pull your string,
bring you back home.
Find your yin and yang, your center of gravity.
To purgatory, we go.
Back to the plains where most of us live.
Neither the depths or the heights,
but a nice lush grassland.
Bathe in the pool,
wash yourself away.
Follow me. I know the path.

Walk the road with me and together we can find the mountain.
Up at the peak, we can dance and sing.
Play the games we love to play.
You know the place. We were there together once.
A picnic in the park, a day in the sun.
There, in the thinning air, we will rest.
Follow me. We can go there together.

Here we go again, folks...
