hkellick: It's a River. Which River? Dunno (River)
1) After I can't imagine how much work, [staff profile] mark finally figured out what went wrong with my journal import and fixed it. I have my livejournal in it's entirety here again. :) Now to go back to porting over my CC stuff..

2) Suggested a place and time for the DC Metro Area Open Beta Party. Hopefully it works for everyone. :)

3) Heard from friends about possibly getting to see the Hoover Dam while I'm in Vegas next month. Would I be interested? Well, let's see... large large river, huge hydraulic structure.. mmm.. yep! :D

4) DW Seed Accounts Going on Sale - K and I will probably both get seed accounts. :)

5) One of my cases of Doom in the City of Atlanta FINALLY went out after what felt like an interminable amount of back and forth between the requester (who didn't know what he was doing), me and the FEMA reviewer. It's done! Huzzah!

6) I went back to the gym yesterday. I put on one of my Disney podcasts and started walking, so that when we finally do get to WDW in October, I'll actually be able to handle all the walking hither and thither.

So I did something yesterday that it was high time to do (and that I haven't done in, like, a year or more).

I lifted weights

Well, to be fair, I used Weight Machines, but it's a START!

I did six machines (that's all I felt I could do), leg press, leg extensions, leg curls, shoulder press, forward press and lat pulldowns.

By that time, I was sore and a little weak, so I just walked on the treadmill for a while.

Back to the gym today for Cardio only (OK, maybe I'll do some lat pulldowns but ONLY because my shoulders ACHE and i know reexercising a muscle helps relieve the ache for me.)

Still.. feeling very proud of myself. I'm back on the wagon, and with luck can stay there and really lose this weight before Marie gets there and I'm still floundering in the 260s.

And if I get to 260.. I'll be hunting the iTunes Store for the perfect reward (1 album.. whatever album I want.)

268.8. I'm not having much luck YET getting belong 265. But I'm not done trying...

Yesterday, I went to the gym despite my poor sore stepped-on-by-some-lady's-high-heel shoes.. and decided it was time to start getting ready to learn to jog again.

So I started interval training. I warmed up, did 2 minutes fast walk at 4.2 mph and then one minute slow jog at 5.0 mph, then 2 minutes fast walk, then 1 minute jog.

I intend, in this way, to start really getting in shape and getting ready to start actually JOGGING. I'll probably stay at this interval for at least through Friday. We'll see next week.

I'd like to lose actual WEIGHT and hope my body agrees with me, but getting fit would be a good goal too, especially given my dancing.

So...

Today - Off
Tomorrow - Gym/Interval Training|
Thursday - Dance Class (heaven help me, I'm going alone)
Friday - Gym/Interval Training
Saturday - Walking around the zoo with Kallie and Kim and Shnitzel and whomever else joins us

Once again, I'm feeling the flush of fresh success. I DID hit the gym yesterday, did my usual routine (34 minutes on the treadmill, at random level 2, at about 4.2 mph.) and realized that I felt strong enough to up it a bit.

So.. I upped it to 4.3 mph.

My body's not pissed at me, so I guess it was OK. :)

I'm not just succeeding in losing weight, but (slowly) getting fitter. I am succesfully reshaping my body from Fat to Fabulous.

It'll take time, which I have plenty of (and plenty of motivation to keep doing and this don't hurt), but.. it feels good to hit even one small milestole along the way. :)
