This last weekend
Jul. 21st, 2004 09:11 amIt occurs to me that it's Wednesday and I haven't talked at all about the musical or the weekend back at home. Let me correct that.
For those who haven't been paying attention, last week I ran home to see Josh playing the lead role (Tevye) in "Fiddler on the Roof". I hadn't originally wanted to go, but decided it was the right thing to do.
So I went home Saturday morning. The flight was uneventful, though I remember why I dislike flying (I HATE my ears popping like that.), called my mom and she picked me up and we went over to Anderson's, one of my mom's favorite places, for lunch for me and to catch up with the week's activities (Josh freaking out over play and losing his contact.. twice, the latest news from mom's school etc.)
Then we decided that we needed to come up with SOMETHING nice to give to Josh, but not flowers since the vases are still MIA (the living room has finally been fixed, the problem is they needed to move the breakfront and everything in it.. including the vases.. and no one is QUITE sure where they are anymore.)
So, mom needs to go to A.C. Moore's anyways and we get the idea, while there, of finding a teddy bear and dressing it up in Tevye clothes. Unsurprisingly, A.C. Moore did not have enough, but mom thought there was a Build-a-Bear type store at the local Boulevard Mall. Turns out she's wrong, so we end up getting him a couple of small teddy bears and going home.. I need to nap badly.
I nap for an hour, Marc calls and he's going to meet us for dinner and the musical.
Dinner is at a small local place called Nina's and then on the show...
Josh was totally fantastic. I can't begin to tell you. Unfortunately, the sound system was really crappy in the first half and it was difficult to hear anyone, but otherwise, Josh was so totally fantastic that.. I still can't tell you. He was bloody brilliant, though.
Got home, exhausted and ready to sleep, call Kristen first to tell her how fantastic Josh was, to find out she'd been having a less than wunderbar day without me. :(
Go to sleep. Wake up earlier than I'd have like (The Couch is more uncomfortable than the inflatable air mattress.. barely), watch a movie, try to call my friends and everyone's busy, head over to the local Farmers Market for fresh peas (which you can still find up there, but not down here :p Bleh. :p), head off to the Galleria Mall with mom to see if we can find a Tevye bear and.. sorta kinda get something sorta like Tevye.. sorta. But it's cute and I think he'll love it, even if it doesn't look like Tevye.
And then we came home, I watched "Haunted mansion" which was pretty bad, while mom did laundry. And then I got back onto a plane back home.
So.. it was an OK weekend. Not stressful in a family sense, but a little boring.
On an unrelated note, HAPPY 13 MONTHS,
ecwoodburn!!! Too bad we won't really get to spend it with each other.. between working late and shopping and looking for a suit :p
