Sometimes I wonder what the soundtrack of life might be if my life were ever, say, a movie or even an audio novel (like graphical novel, but each section would have a tune to play while reading it. Hey, TMBG did it with McSweeney's magazine so why NOT a novel? :) )
Some bits are a bit obvious.
For example, there is absolutely no reason NOT to believe that certain TMBG songs *cough*Birdhouse*cough* would be an obvious choice for SOMEWHERE in the past 10 years.
Or whereas "Angry Young Man" by Billy Joel would be an obvious choice for my late teens.
There are other times.. places in between... where no particular song ever seems to suffice.
I'm sure that the majority of the soundtrack of my life would be rock music, probably laced with heavy guitars.
There's just something about heavy guitairs that makes you feel angry, menacing thoughts.. and that would correspond to my life because i am often angry at SOMETHING. There always seems to be an edge of anger around me, if not directly visible than sitting just below my skin. I'm not purposely this way, but I know I do seem this way.
There'd possibly be some bouncy Synth Pop or some superdanceable dance music. That's my happy music for those times when I'm happybouncyboppy which seem to be few and far between, but probably aren't as few and far between as I might make it seem.

Sometimes I wonder why I have such an attachment to music. I have no answer for that question as of yet, but I do admit that music is REALLY important to me. I don't just hear it in my ears, but it resonates throughout my soul. That might sound silly, but I'm serious. Music holds a singular attachment for me that not even computers or the internet holds. If I had much musical talent, I'd probably, at least, be in a band. As it is, I have Dance Ejay which is good for when I feel like making happy boppy dance music but sucks for the part of me that wants to get out a guitair and just grind.
Ah well.

Um.. I'm not sure what the point to this was.. so.. um.. I'll post

Music is deeply entrenched into culture as we now know it. Music hits from us every direction: TV (either video form or commercial), movies, radio, the streets, etcetcetc.

Music means so much to so many people. Can you imagine getting into a car and not turning on the radio? Can you imagine sitting down at your computer and not loading up Winamp (or whatever player you use)?

Just a short thought on how prevalent music is today. :)

Mmm... Yes... but...
I imagine music was always prevalent. Yes, today you can be entrenched in it thanks to technology, but even so.. our parents and their parents certainly could too.
Just a thought.
