So as I revealed last night to [livejournal.com profile] trillain, [livejournal.com profile] dawnstar, [livejournal.com profile] janinedog and [livejournal.com profile] xb95, I'm thinking of having another together this summer.
Instead of Darien Lake (though, if there's sufficient interest, maybe we can work that in too, I guess. I plan on going sometime this summer, anyways.), though, I'm thinking of having a dork-a-thon
The forces of pi will converge once again upon the lite household, but this time for a day filled with DDR, Card Games, perhaps some Cheap Ass Games, other Video Games.. and, most definately, Lasertron.
1 day. All the dork we can dork.
As for when... I'm thinking summer again... late june or early july (not too late, lest it interferes with finishing my thesis).
Does this sound interesting to anyone?
It'd be cool if we could have some of last year's cast come back for a repeat performance. It was fun. :)
Anyways... no plans have been confirmed. Just a vague idea for something I'd like to do. :)

Also, I'd like to note that there's nothing quite like NEW and cool music (like perhaps some new and neverheard (by me) before songs from Dance Dance Revolution. I so have to play this, even if I suck. :) ) to put your favorite pixie in a good mood.

Peace, y'all.

OOO! COUNT ME IN!!

Now that I've said that, just gotta figure out if it's actually possible for this to happen or not. :)

This sounds like fun! Can we have it the weekend of June 21st? Pretty please? That may be the only free weekend I have in between all my conferences.

We'd been talking about trying for July sometime, so I'm not stressed with taking two summer classes (both in the first 5 week session). But... if that's not possible, I'll live. And I'll still do my best to try to be caught up enough on schoolwork, to be able to make it anyway. :)

In that case, how about July 19th? I could drive to NYC for Macworld instead of taking the train, and then drive from NYC to Buffalo on the 18th.

Whee busy schedules.

I'm not particular about dates, so long as it's not late late july or august.
Alot of it depends, obviously, on who is going and when they can go. :)
I reckon either you or [livejournal.com profile] xb95 (though both is preferable) have to be there so that you can bring your DDR sets (so we can have DDR! :) )

That'd be pretty well perfect for me, but I dunno about anyone else. [livejournal.com profile] kolys and I are each taking classes during Session One of summer classes - which ends on June 27th.

I'm certain there's a place in Buffalo somewhere that has DDR, if all else fails.

As so far, I don't foresee any problems with the weekend of July 19, but July is still months away :)
Maybe, if people are interested (and since we might not be doing darien lake), we could even midnite bowl the night before.
Like I said in my post... I'd like to dork all the dork we can dork :)

Well... there's trilli's house ;)
Yes, there are.. but it's better, I think, for me to do my first DDR in a house instead of PUBLICLY embarassing myself (forget two left feet, I only have one (and no right feet))

Last I heard Mark's homemade hard pad was busted. I have two of the soft pads. Other than that, since you have a PS/2, I guess all we need to bring is the game itself.

Yep. Need Pads and Game.
I can provide the P/S 2 and the room to play in.
I can also provide the cats to dance with ;)

Yes, July is months away, but I'm scheduling my conferences NOW. :)

Midnite bowling would rock too. I'm perfectly happy to skip Darien Lake, since I've already been there 3 times.

Heh. Yeah. The idea of doing something NEW (and maybe less, in general, expensive) appeals to me :)
Midnight bowling.. about $15.. Lasertron.. about $12 (unless I buy a party... then it's nothing for y'all.. we'll see)...
Compared to... well.. $25 for Darien Lake tickets and more for food and lockers and everything else :)

Dork-a-Thon, Dork-a-Thon... sorry, just brushing up for the possibility of a get together I may actually be able to attend! I'd say late June/early July sounds good. Late July is bad for me because that's when my new little brother or sister is expected to make an appearance.

I'm more for the idea of bowling than lasertron, if it game down to making a choice.

I don't see why it needs to come down to a choice.
My point was that the two combined (midnite bowling and lasertron) are probably CHEAPER than Darien Lake.

To all those people in the comment thread above...my birthday is on July 18th. Not really a problem or anything, just letting you know. :)

And LITE...am I correct in assuming that John/sTiLe is invited? I saw him today and thought about it, but didn't actually tell him about it because I wanted to ask you first. He doesn't read anyone's LiveJournal, so wouldn't know about it.

Yay! That would be too cool. I haven't met so many of my old mux friends! Though I did get to meet up with Dawnstar and kolys a couple of months ago. I think we should start working out the dates ASAP, that way everyone has enough time to plan everything.

The more I think about it, the more I think I'd rather still take the train than drive alone, since I'll be coming from Macworld NYC (assuming July 19 is the day) and it's likely Robby will stay home. If I came into Buffalo Friday evening on Amtrak, would we still have enough cars to get around in? If I were coming straight from Boston I'd drag Robby along and it wouldn't be an issue.

I think so, but I can't say for certain until I know WHO is coming and WHO is driving and etc.
My car will be available, of course (so long as it doesn't break down)
Mark and Janine if they come down.
Maybe Star and Kolys.
So.. yeah.. depending on who comes down, I'm pretty sure we'll have enough cars.

Your car can't break down this year, it broke down LAST year.

I suppose in case of emergency, I could always rent a car. I have credit cards and I'm not afraid to use them. :)

Yeah, worst case one of us can rent a car as well.
Also, if we're just taking people to things like Lasertron, we probably have limited access to Josh's car too (since I was going to invite him. He loves Lasertron as much as I.)

Sorry, no can do. Luck willing and the creek don't rise, we're westward bound on the 2nd of July, leaving behind the snow covered wasteland of Buffalo.
And also luck willing and the creek don't rise, [livejournal.com profile] illandaria should be joining the two and a fraction of us sometime in May, so we'll have companyfamily to deal with anyway.
*hugs* Have fun being dorky.
