Vaguely Realistic but odd dream

hkellickI just woke up from an odd dream.
I was going to some meeting at some naval center with a few students and teachers in my department. Two teachers and four or five students. A bunch of other students from other departments and other schools would be there too.
The meeting was taking place on some Coast Guard Station that, originally, I thought was in Niagara Falls, but was in New Jersey or something.
What was odd was that the meeting was a conference on magic powers.
In fact, I found my results from last years conference saying that my style and my magic were a little too "south" (I think that means I was vaguely evil) and I wouldn't be trained in the normal group this year.
The problem is.. we weren't sure when we were going or how to get there. Dr. Atkinson had the directions but the guy I was going with (Shwet) and I did not. So we went back to school to wait for him and ended up meeting up with the other students and Dr. Tsai, the other teacher.
That's when the wave hit.
We were on a hill looking down on a parking lot near the commons waiting for Dr. Atkinson and a couple of students to arrive so we could head down.
Then this huge wave came out of nowhere and swamped the hill. I had to hold my breath while the water passed overhead.
What I remember thinking, in the dream, albeit later.. was a total lack of undertow. As I wake up, there was also a total lack of force pushing us forward. It just swamped us.
The dream shifted slightly and I was back home... Smokey was outside and must have spent the entire day outside. So I let her in. Then I realize Cleo's out there too, but she doesn't want to come inside.
Then I see the wave again and it's headed straight for me.
I duck into the house and Cleo must run with me because she's inside.
I run upstairs as the wave hits.
Water spills out of my mom's room.
I run into my own and close the window, just in time to stop water flooding some important papers.
Then there's a crash downstairs and I go to check and cleo has taken the chair cover off of one of the cleos and is on.. something in the bathroom shivering.
And Baby was in there too, somewhere, but I forget where.
And then I start back to school to go to the conference.
There's a little more to this dream. It got weird.. I think I "changed the channel" and was a jester in "Pern' but I was trying to screw with someone's computer and went down these long tubes that opened up before me and I knew, real life, I'd probably be very uncomfortable riding due to the fact that you have no idea WHAT it opens up to. Then I'm back and the two biggest nations in the world have combined to be at war with us.
I'm going to suggest, though, that the dream I described in more detail up top is more important. Lots of images of things that are important to me.. my room, my cats, symbols of school.. and water.
If one of y'all or one of my real life family had been there, I'd have definately felt it held images of most or all of the important things in my life.
Oh well. Time to get a shower and some food and head to school.
