OK, I'm up (stupid Gershwin), so I may as well take a moment to talk about the TMBG Concert:)
First off, the concert was short. Like, not even an hour and a half, even with Encore.
The playlist is
La Fortuna Intro
Clap Your Hands
Bed Bed Bed
Cyclops Rock
Fingertips
John Lee Supertaster
Dr. Worm
Famous Polka
Famous Polka - FASTER!
Drink!
Dead
On The Drag
In The Middle In The Middle In The Middle
Istanbul (not Constantinople)
Minimum Wage
Boss Of Me
Birdhouse In Your Soul
Why Does The Sun Shine?
Thank Yous (also, very short)
No!
Encore
Particle Man
Battle For The Planet of the Apes
New York City
Looking back at November's Concert from last year, it was a LITTLE DISAPPOINTING.
For example, New York City.. In November, they really played it hard and well. I remember dancing going "THIS IS COOL!", yesterday I was like 'Too slow! Speed it up!'
Still didn't do No Ana Ng, No Statue, No Guitar, Not even Man It's So Loud In Here or Sleepwalkers or "Adult" Robot Parade this time *sniffsniff*
Not even Spin the Dial!! *sniffsniff*
I'm not saying the show wasn't good. It was. I still can't talk from all the screaming I did. :) It just didn't compare to the one last November which was longer and cooler and stuff.
When they started playing the Famous Polka... again, I was laughing pretty hard. it just amused me. They should have sung the words, though!
Was both confused and amused when someone nearer to the front of the concert (I ended up staying in back with
dawnstar,
kolys,
blackfelicula and
mechanchaos) took his shoe up and held it above his head like a prize.
Battle for the Planet of the Apes was nifty and sounded... pretty much like in Severe Tire Damage.
When the Band of Dans played, we had to raise out left hand, do the concert punching air in front of us thing and scream "People". When the Johns played, we had to do this with our right hand and scream "Ape". When no one played, we had to do this with both hands and scream "Robot".. it was.. amusing :)
Apparently I was amusing too.
dawnstar at one point in the night commented that she wasn't sure whether the better show was watching the band or me watching the band. heh.
Another note, we missed one of the opening bands (Woven), but the one we did catch, McCarthyizm.. well, it was pretty darned cool too :) Unfortunately and for reasons I don't really get when I went up to the place to get a CD, they said McCarthyizm had never put any out.
So I was forced to get the CD version of the Working Undercover For The Man single and the newest version of Direct From Brooklyn (with the Gigantic scenes in it :) ) which I will probably watch before
kholnuu calls. Poor me ;)
I'll tell you in person, but happy birthday
janinedog! :)
OK, I'll post this, feed the evil cattens of hellitude and try to go back to bed before people arrive again.
