(please please be right. Please, a job, any job. Even temp work until I can get a "Real" job.)
So, yeah. For those of you who JUST GOTTA KNOW...
Yes, ecwoodburn and I are back on track.
Now to talk about the weekened.
Saturday
Despite leaving a late, I still arrived in Rochester around 6:00. Got there with... some expectations on what we'd do. Hug, go to dinner, talk about us and bring a pad along to write "The Plan" down, then go to see the Matrix and go home to sleep.
Things did not work out like that.
Got there, and.. all of a sudden we were clutching and crying and hugging and.. we did that for about an hour and a half.
Called the Macaroni Grill to get a SORTA reservation (called in to say we'd be there so we want a table), did dinner... talked about us, but talked about alot of other things too. Dinner was good, if a little expensive for the good we got. Thought about going to see the Matrix, but decided we'd do it Sunday instead and then came home and did more clutching and crying and hugging.
This leads me to contemplate how truly important it is to us that we can be together more in real life. When I am here and she is there, all I have to offer is words. But when we're both there, I can hold her, hug her, touch her and that's so much better.
Ended up trying to sleep Saturday night, but between just holding each other and waking up when the other leaves the room and restlessness and.. all sorts of things, it didn't really happen as much as it should have.
Sunday
Woke up about 9:00 and was just awake. Crawled out of bed and plopped onto the couch to read the latest Terry Pratchett book. Don't remember when Kristen woke up (wasn't watching the clock), but she woke up because she thought she heard her phone ringing (it was the phone next door, I guess). We ended up snuggling a bit more. She was talking about past stuff, including Rick and she ended up pulling out the old photo albums of her and Rick. I suggested that the two of us need our own photo album (which of course needs we need to take more pictures when we go places and see things. :) ), starting with pictures from Dawn's wedding. We looked through those and one her grandmother made of her with pictures of her and her two siblings for a while, showered, and made plans for the day, that included, at the time, a trip to Michaels to get an actual album. We got out, went to DiBello's for subs and decided to skip Michaels to see Matrix Revolutions.
I honestly liked the movie. I thought they did a better job in having both character development and action than in the second movie. (The first remains my favorite, though.) At first I was a little confused, but I THINK I get it.
Came back to Kristen's place, considered eating, but didn't feel like it, so called dawnstar and made plans for Wednesday's concert. I'm still a little antsy about finding my way alone from Dawn's to Kristen's place Wednesday night, but.. I'll do it. I guess.
Then we snuggled a little more and I went home and slept FAIRLY soundly.
Today
Woke up at 4:30, talked to ecwoodburn on AIM for a little, went back to bed, tried to sleep, failed, was up at 6:00 and helped get ready for Linda, the cleaning lady. Was back in bed about 8:30 and up again at 10:30. Called a few employment agencies and made an appointment with AppleOne for tommorow at 10:30 (gotta wear my suit - Fun :p ) and was doing that when Jacques Whitford called.. an hour early. It was a fairly pleasant phone interview and I think I did well. She SEEMED to like most of my answers (Wish I had experience, though, dammit! I'd NAIL some of these jobs if I JUST HAD SOME EXPERIENCE :p) and it was really fairly pleasant. I got to touch on all the points I wanted to, previous experience working with Ground Water models and proving that a waste treatment system was (or was not) working, plus plenty of time to explain my experience in Letchworth and why i believed this made me an ideal candidate for their job (and I actually used about that phrase). She asked about my college education and thesis, about whether I was willing to relocate to Philly, what i needed culturally out of a city, what sort of pricetag I came with.. I asked about training and mentoring, about relocation and travel opportunities. It was.. good.
I am, as so far, 1 out of 5 people being considered for the job and one way or the other, I ought to hear from them by the end of the week. I just need to take some online test of some sort and send a sample of my writing. (I'll probably reread and check over an assignment I did last year for the Sediment Transport class I took)
I'll send a thank you note via email today. (I don't actually have any other way to contact the person who interviewed me, so I think email should work.) I am VERY hopeful that they liked me by how well *I* percieve the interview went.
*hopehopehopehopes*
And then I came to school.
That's about all I have to say. All in all, it's been a really good weekend, a good day today. All I need to do is get some sleep and I'll be really quite content :)
Oh. Before I quit this.
This Upcoming Week
Things going on this week.
Wednesday Night - Going to Rochester and going to see Barenaked Ladies (*fansqueal*) with ecwoodburn,
dawnstar and
kolys *excitedexcited*
Thursday - Stay for a while in Rochester and go home sometime that day (instead of Wed Night), go roleplaying
Friday - See The Buffalo Chips in concert Friday Night. I was originally planning on maybe going to see the Looney Tunes movie, but... eh.. this is cheaper, plus... I love the Chips and I haven't been to one of their concert in ages.
The Weekend - Hopefully ecwoodburn comes to Buffalo. Dunno what we'll do. As long as we do it together, it'll be good :)
And now I post
