So, as you can probably tell from the subject header, the forces of pie have dispersed/are dispersing. Jen, Robby, John and Rachel are back in Massachussets and if Mark and Janine haven't left Buffalo yet, they will soon.
It was such a great weekend and I'm rather sad that it had to end.
So what happened yesterday?
Well, I don't think I need to tell the part about going to Rochester and Back.
dawnstar did a pretty decent job of covering that. There's not much that needs, I think, to be said about that.
Well.. one thing..
I got the rest of my gifts (everyone came bearing gifts for
kareila and myself this weekend) :)
From sTiLe, we got a $15 gift certificate to Media Play :)
From Janine and Marky, we got beanie babies (I got a cat named Prance. Kar got another cat, but I don't know it's name) and a $20 Amazon.com gift certificate.
Of course, as most of you know, I got Kareila a really nifty light up Jester's Hat (you'll see it as soon as pictures are posted :) ) and she got me a really cool TMBG shirt :)
Trillian, of course, gave me cookies and Kar a cute teddy bear dressed as a cat.
And from Star and Oliver, we got cookies. Peanut butter hershey kiss cookies. Very yummy :)
Speaking of gifts, I need to remember to pick up my shirts Friday. My mommy ordered me 2 cool shirts from Mountain tees at the Eastern Hills Mall... a wolf one and a water wizard (I picked them up) and a cat one for herself.
So.. going back to Sunday. Marky, Janine and I head back to Buffalo, talking happily and, in general, having a great time. I offer to give them directions to Niagara Falls and/or New Jersey. I think they FORGOT to ask for the directions to Niagara Falls, but I had given them directions from their hotel to Janine's home in New Jersey.
The UNFORTUNATE part is I'd brought in the directions to the Hotel with me.. and it was left there.
I don't remember why it came up, but along the way we talked about movies and I asked if they'd seen Goldfinger, which they hadn't yet and I asked if they wanted to, but they didn't think they had time.
Anyways, we get back home and I run downstairs to go to AAA.com to get their driving instructions. As we started printing the instructions out, we see that AAA says it will take 6 1/2 hours to get from Buffalo to New Jersey (instead of the 8 1/2 they'd expected) so.. I asked again... want to come to Goldmember? And we agreed to go to the University 8 (near me) and see it there.
Then Carl came in to say it was time to Lasertron and I locked the door and told them to close it when they left, which they did and no problem.
Lasertron was odd.. I liked it. This is the new multi-level arena they've got that I wanted to try. I don't think it's done yet, because there are no bases and no computer screens yet, but it was cool. What I EXPECTED was two floors with cross ways so you could get up to both floors from either side. What we ended up getting was a rather small arena (approximately half the size of the single level arena) with a bridge in the middle of it and four ramps onto the bridge.
So, since there were no bases, what they did was team manhunt. That is to say... unlimited lives, unlimited shots, hunt down and kill everyone on the opposite team. This worked rather well, actually.
The first two games I had to get used to the new arena.. I had to go on the bridge and TRY to rain death down on people, but when you are up on the bridge, you are a sitting duck for people below you... so, by the last two games, I had my Lasertron groove going.. I found what was possibly the perfect place for this particular game, in a corner, where I could shoot up at the bridge and down on both sides for the idiots who kept pooling down near the one corner.
Anyways, it was a great deal of fun and I enjoyed myself.
Got home about 7:00, called Marky and Janine up to tell them I was home.
One amusing thing... about 8:15, I was beginning to wonder where Janine and Mark were (the movie was 9:00 and I'd suggested they try to get to my house about 8:30), so I called Marky.. and ended up leaving voicemail.. then I called Janine to find out the EXACT same time I was trying to call Marky, he was trying to call me to tell me he was coming over.
So.. the movie was good... and then we hugged each other and said our goodbyes.
And so a VERY busy but MOST awesome weekend ended. And now back to the grind.
Still gotta find out what's wrong with the car. I called the mechanic this morning who said that he looked at it Saturday and had no problems but he's going to look at it more this morning. I hope he finds the problem (I doubt the car was simply being so temperamental that it wouldn't start Friday... ), but even if he doesn't, at least I'm not going out of town for a while...
Anyways.. I'm really tired, still, and I have to pick up Josh (his foot is killing him. It might be blistered. I dunno.)
So... I'll end this.
