My feet are on fire (possible sunburn again) and my back kind of aches.
That said, yesterday was pretty good.
There were some kinks in the plans along the way.. but I'll detail, as I recall it, the good, the bad and the totally insanexx0rz!
We all started our plans a little late. Like trillian, I think, in general, the majority of us were totally ready, but, as Murphy's Law states, when you depend sufficiently on a large amount of good luck, at least one thing in the system will break, causing everything to break.
Mark and Janine got up early enough, but I think they got lost trying to find me and ended up half an hour late. So we were half an hour late to get John etc.
That said.. this was NOT a problem!
We arrived at Darien Lake at 11:40, found Trillian *EASILY* and I proceeded to give out half of the Bags of Eville.
For those not in the know, the Bags of Eville all contained some of the following: candy (some of us got smarties, some of us got some ring pop thingy, we all got pop rocks and, of COURSE, pixie stix for all. ), some party favors, a cute balsa wood plane and, the eville part, silly string!
So as I'm distributing the bags to.. Mark, Janine, John, Rachel and Laurie... they all realize.. hey we have silly string!
And, of course, it's a known fact that once you have silly string, you HAVE to shake it and spray it at someone.
So, of course, there was a HUGE silly string war where all of us got silly string all over us (and I hadn't even opened my can!)
Trilli gave me my birthday gift, a bag of cookies that I was SUPPOSED to share with everyone (and I had full intentions of doing so, but it never seemed to happen. This was not planned folks :o ) and we went into the park and put our bags into lockers.
And off we went to ride the first ride, Shipwreck Falls.
While in line for Shipwreck Falls, Kar calls, they're in Darien, they'll be there soon. So we ride the ride, stand on the bridge a second to get soaked as other boats pass under and go to meet Jen, Robby, Chris and Leah at the entrance.
We meet wander off to eat food. There was one possibly tense moment where, me being in total host mode, I just started telling Chris what they had to offer here, before Kar yelled at me to stop. I realize this was probably damned annoying to them. So, anyways, I run off grab a burger and a drink (Because the plan was, as usual, to eat all day since they have so many cool things to eat there!) and then go back to grab some cheese fries when Chris and Leah return with a cup each of those.
After eating, some of us (I think it was Chris, Leah, Mark, John and Rachel) went to go ride the Boomerang (coaster) while us other five went to ride the Lasso and Raging Seas.
After that, we realize we're hot AGAIN so we start making our way towards the Grizzly Run, slowly. I think we stopped at the Bumper Cars. At the Bumper Cars, I see Josh and his friends (Josh, my brother), which was amusing, except that idiot scared himself and me half-senseless by losing his wallet in the Bumper Cars ride. I found out, as i'd left (we rode after Josh), that Josh had come back in looking for it and I caught up with him as half of us went to get frozen lemonade and dippin dots.. that he needed money, he lost his wallet. Luckily, he found it and gave the money back. Phew.
Anyways, we went to Grizzly Run and waited in the damn hour long line in the hot blazing sun for the Grizzly Run, BUT.. this time, all the things on the ride were on! (most of the time I've been there, this is not true. Just the last waterfall is on and maybe an occasional splash :( ), so that was a HAPPY!
Then we decided to split up from there. Mark, Janine, Trill, Chris, Leah and I went to the water park while Jen, Robby, John and Rachel rode coasters. I realized, as I changed, I'd NOT TAKEN MY CONTACT CASE! So I couldn't take my contacts out! :o This was potentially BAD! But, no worries, folks...
The first thing we did was the lazy river, which was great for me, but traumatizing for poor Mark because he'd left his glasses on as he floated down and then flipped over at the bottom of the ride and lost his glasses temporarily.
There was also an issue where Leah had checked her cane with the attendant in front, but chris couldn't. But when he got up there, he couldn't float down with his walking stick (and being on the ride, this makes sense. He'd probably have poked someone with it and that would be really bad too)
Eventually, the walking stick came down without Chris and Chris came floating down the ride.
Chris and Leah head out of the waterpark and Mark and Janine and Laurie and I do Hooks Lagoon and the wave pool for a while before we change and get Mark's glasses out of the pool (yay!)
And then, by then, it's about 7:20 or 7:30... so Mark and I, who have NOT YET RIDDEN A ROLLERCOASTER :o, decided to hit the Predator.. and we get there.. and.. the Predator is broken... so we return back to the main group and all have Pizza together. Then, after Pizza, we all do the Superman (well, everyone but Laurie and Janine), woo!
John and Rachel got ahead of Mark and I, who were ahead of Jen, Robby, Chris and Leah. Robby didn't feel like riding the ride, so.. and this WAS interesting.. when the Superman died, Jen, Chris and Leah were stuck a few feet from the station and couldn't get off... luckily, a few minutes later, they were back and no problems.
Then it was still early enough that Mark and Laurie and Chris and Leah and I went BACK to the Predator.
Mind you, the line of the Superman took maybe half an hour to fourty minutes to get through. The predator took longer, because there was only one train operating :o
And, unfortunately, by the time we got out of the PRedator, we were late for everything else. We got out of the Predator at the time I'd prefer to be just sitting down for Laserlight Reality. And I still had to get fudge for mom (and candy apples for me!), so Jen ran to get my bags while I waited in line. And as i waited in line, the damn *1* guy behind the counter ran to lock the door, ran back, ran someone through, ran to the door, ran back.. it was.. a total waste of time :o
So... I got my fudge and a candy apple for myself and Jen.. and RAN Back to get my bag and gogogogogogo to the Laserlight Show. And as I got there to run to my bag, everyone circles around me, holding hands so i couldn't run out and then sang happy birrthday. Meanwhile, I'm hopping up and down, trying to get the bag and gogogogogogogogogogogogogogogo to the Laser show! And I practically RUN to the Laserlight show. We get there JUST in time to see it start and stand through the whole thing on my poor burning feet :o. Not how I would have PREFERED to see the show, but at least I saw it. And during the show, I gave out the last four bags of eville, which were now damp to Jen, Robby and Chris and Leah. And I think we all enjoyed the show.
On the way home, Mark had a CD of Beach Boys covers were cool.. so Mark and I sang half the way home to everything from Sloop John B to Help Me Rhonda. It was rather cool. I love Marky. He's cool :D
Then I waited for Jen and Robby to get home, watching some terrible slasher flick called Valentine. Jen and Robby come home about 12:30 and to bed we all go.
Today, we'll go to Rochester to see Dawn and Oliver.. and then, between 4:00 and 5:00, I'll get picked up by my friend Dave and I'll do Lasertron (Oh, my poor feet, but.. it'll be worth it) on... THE NEW MULTI-LEVEL ARENA! :D :D :D :D *giggles happily and twirls around*
Not much else to say... so... I'll post this. I'm sure I'll write more later, probably tonight or tommorow :)
