I've heard of sleeping like a rock. I did not sleep like a rock. I slept like a feather :p
Yesterday was not EXACTLY the best of days.
Started out OK, mind... I got the tickets, the gas, the house cleaned etc. etc.
Had a most amusing conversation with Trillian about the forces of Pie (as I quoted in my livejournal)
And I read a most amusing website about a canadian video game owner named Gord.
Marky got into Buffalo on time.. just about 5:00 or so like we hoped. We got him to his hotel room.
That's where things started going downhill.
At the hotel, trying to back my car up and move it to the other side of the building, I noticed that the engine seemed to be lacking power as I switched into reverse. Turn it off. Try to turn it back on again. Nope. Get the keys stuck for a few minutes (because it will NOT allow you to take the key out if you are in anything but Park) and finally got it started again.
Mark and I drove to my house in it, stopping only at a Burger King because we were hungry and Janine's bus was 20 minutes, half an hour late. Then we went to pick up Janine... or started to, in any case.
On the exchange between the 990 and the 290 East, I lost Engine Power again.. and pulled to the right shoulder (since I was in the right lane)
and tried to start her up.. and no.
and tried to start her up.. and tried for 7 or 8 minutes before we called AAA.
Basically, if I give it no gas, it refuses to start up at all. If I give it gas, it seems to be "putt putt"ing, possibly backfiring.
So, AAA eventually found us and off to A&R automotive goes my car.
And, meanwhile, Janine calls, she's in Buffalo
and Jen calls, they're in Buffalo.
The forces of Pie are HERE! And.. I'm not :o
Luckily, my mom was home and a really good sport. She followed us to A&R, took us from A&R to the bus station to get Janine. Then we all went to Marky's hotel where the three of us emptied his five seater car, since it appears that we are now taking HIS car to Darien Lake (and I'll hitch a ride with him on Sunday to see Dawn, since they're coming back to this are anyways). Eventually (2 hours later than we intended), we got back to my house to see Jen, Robby, John and Rachel sitting in my living room watching Lord of the Ring special features.
Much greetings and happiness. I gave Jen her birthday gift, a really neat jester's hat with little balls that light up :) A clone to one I have myself :) She gave me her gift, the TMBG shirt.
And we went off to IHOP for dinner at 9:00.
Yes, it is true, a certain SOMEONE (MARKY!) told our servers that two of us were having birthdays... and (and I did not purposely time this, I honestly had to go!) I got up just in time to go to the bathroom that as I'm washing my hands, I hear the clapping and know JEN is being serenaded (To be honest, that stuff embarasses the hell out of me :), so I wanted nothing to do with it! :o ) and Josh (my brother) runs into the bathroom to try to pull me outside to be proper serenaded and I resisted. Eventually the clappers left and I came out and we all ate bits of the ice cream (I was stuffed, honestly.)
And then we all went home. Josh, me, John and Rachel in one car to drop John and Rachel off at one hotel. Jen, Robby, Marky and Scotty in the other car.
I helped get Jen directions to Phinnia's place (since they were a little more difficult to get to last time since the exit they claimed they were off was NOT THERE :o ) and then we all went to bed.
Eventually, I'm sure I'll look back on today and laugh. At the moment, I'm too nervous about what could be wrong with my car. I'll call A&R at 8:00 and tell them "Hey, I'm sure you see my car sitting over there. Yeah, it died."
At least we should have fun at Darien Lake. :D
And I still have my bags of eville to distribute. BAHAHAHAHA! :D
There's one other things bugging me I want about, if only quickly. My father and my birthday.
For those who remembered, I honestly forgot to invite my dad to graduation until it was too late (supposedly) and he had a business trip (he's out of town ALOT on the weekends) and couldn't go.
He was insulted enough that Josh got a car for graduation and I got nothing.
Tommorow, of course, is my birthday and, once again, dad is out of town.
And that bastard couldn't have even bothered to bring over a stupid card or something before he left.
And I seriously doubt he mailed one out.
Maybe I shouldn't expect less, given our history, but.. dammit.. that pisses me off.
If he doesn't even acknowledge my birthday...
Gods, what an ass :p
Oh well... in a few hours, Marky and Janine will be here to get me, then we'll get John and Rachel and off to Darien Lake we go, to keep Trillian company until Jen, Robby, Leah and Chris arrive. :D
Today should be a blast! :D :D :D
