Well, the weekend started out great. I won't detail the party to Dawn's but I got up there and it was much fun and so on and so forth.
Then we came back to Buffalo and had much fun doing midnight bowling.
Came home.. and I couldn't sleep. I just could not sleep. I could not sleep in Josh's pull out bed. I could not sleep on the basement couch. I only fell asleep for maybe three hours on mom's lay-z-boy and by that time I was exhausted.
*sigh*
But.. hey.. it's all good.
Marky and Janine woke up and after showerage and food, we played two rather rousing games of You Don't Know Jack 3 (I have no idea WHY but You Don't Know Jack 5 WOULD NOT LOAD.. oh well.. :/)
Then it was time for them to go. We said goodbye and hugged and all was good.
Call my friend Dave and the two of us head, seperately, to UB to roleplay.
This is when everything went terribly terribly wrong.
Got to UB... Dave is there, Todd is there.. but Scott, Todd's brother and our fourth player.. he is not there.
So we have to go to Scott's house.
So the plan is.. Dave had to leave early, so he just went home. Then Todd and I both went seperately towards Todd's house where we were supposed to meet up and drive to Scott's house.
So I head down Campbell Boulevard and, mind you, it had rained all of last night and yesterday morning. And I'm driving at a reasonable pace (possibly too fast for the conditions, in retrospect) and the red light in front of me turns green. Except that those cars don't start moving.. or at least fast enough.
Do you know the song Barenaked Ladies's "Tonite is the Night I Fell Asleep At The Wheel"? It was sort of like that. I was totally detached. Just watching what was going on. My foot slammed on the break. The breaks squeeled. I tried to turn to the right to get over the shoulder but just slid forward.
I end up hitting the black car hard enough to do a fair amount of damage to my front.
My first real car accident, ever..
Dammit.
The guy was pretty nice. He knew I didn't mean to hit him. We exchanged information and I get her started and drive her home (thank god. There seems to be alot of damage to the lights and hood and bumper, but the engine seems unscathed (knock on wood).. and called Todd to tell him I wouldn't join him (I changed my mind after) and ran up to tell my mom what happened. Then I called Geico.
So Geico knows... but the car still looks bad.
I have no idea how much it will cost to get repaired.
I have no idea if I can AFFORD it.
I'll try to take it in tommorow and get an estimate.
From there.. we'll see.
So as I call Geico, Todd comes and when I'm done, I'm whisked away to roleplay. We ended up roleplaying for five hours and it was.. good.. enjoyable.. probably just what I needed.. just to get my mind off what happened.
We also watched the Bills Game.
For you unbelievers, YES.. THE BILLS *CAN* WIN IN REGULATION!
Nyeh! ;)
So... I'm still tired.. but I'll watch Sopranos and go to bed.
Thank god I decided to take tommorow off.
I think I'll rest and relax with some Roller Coaster Tycoon 2
Then be able to go back in Tuesday with a better attitude and, hopefully, a better outlook.
So that's my weekend in a nutshell.
Time to go watch Sopranos.
Until later...
