hkellick: Pittsburgh, City of Bridges (Default)
The damage is pretty bad. The estimate (undetailed, estimate only) is.. just to get it to pass NYS inspections it would cost me $1500... to fix everything.. approximately $2000.
I don't have that.
I am now a carless person.
I'm trying to look on the bright side. There *IS* a bright side.
Yes, it is inconvenient for me to not have a car.
My major trip is school. I can still bike to school or I can walk. Either way, school is within distant.
There are two remaining cars: my mom's and Josh's. If I really had to borrow a car for a day, I could probably borrow Josh's, especially since I'd gas it up when I'm done. So I can still do things like go to Showtime Theatre 11/1 and put my check in the bank and such.
I was getting further in further in debt. Not only am I not suddenly going further in debt to fix the car, but the lack of insurance will give me approximately $350 more every six weeks.
So.. unless someone here can think of something, I'll just finish up the rest of the school year with no car and try to put some away for when I can get a real job and can try to get a car then. That's the plan, at least.
I dunno... it'll probably all come together in the end.
