Another good weekend with Kristen. Plus, I got a fuzzy new friend :D Let me tell you about my weekend :)
But let's rewind first.
Friday
Before Rochester, I got to talk to my mom and help her upstairs (I wanted to remind her to let Gershwin out of his room when she woke up) only to find out that she'd had a terrible day at work. One of her students had brought a kitten into class in her jacket pocket and left it there the whole day and neither she nor any of her aides knew about it until the end of the school day. She was horrified and I'll admit that I am too.. to abuse a poor kitten like that is...yeah. Upsetting to say the least. I didn't say much during the weekend because.. well... I didn't wanna talk about it. Don't, really. It reminds me too much of other animal abuse cases I've seen.
Apparently my mom says the kitten died over the weekend. I feel terrible about that, if not totally surprised.
*sigh* :/
Friday, got into Rochester a little before 6:00. Kristen was basically ready for me despite some worries that due to going to bed really late that morning, she wouldn't be.
Made some elbow macaroni and throw some cheese (not melted cheddar cheese but parmigiana and shredded mozerella. It weren't bad at all. It needed a little something, though. Sauce, maybe.. or spice or SOMETHING. *shrugs*
I brought out Two Towers extended and we drove to Beth's and we were on time. Go us! ^^
Got there and found out Beth and Matt had bought Two Towers extended themselves. Oh. OK. :) So I didn't need to bring my copy after all. Ah well. Felt a little silly, but it's not as if I knew :)
I was planning on behaving and just watching. I swear I was. Instead, we all ended up sitting around, watching and making amusing comments. Didn't hear the movie specifically well, but we all had a fun time and that is what counts. I'm not complaining, especially as I'll probably show it for friends in Buffalo next friday night. Anyways, it's not like I don't own it, so I CAN honestly watch it...
Poor Kristen, while she had been ready in time, was exhausted and as the rest of us watched the movie, she went from awake to asleep on my shoulder pretty quickly. I don't think she saw too much of the movie either, but.. again.. I own the movie, so maybe we can watch it in the near future or I'll lend it to her or some such.
Movie wrapped up at 10:35 and we were headed back home before Kristen went to work.
She went to work and I hopped onto Chaotic for a while to be amused by
deathontwolegs and
alundyne until about 1:30 when I was tired enough my vision was getting a tad bleary. So I headed to bed with a book and was asleep about 2:00.
Saturday
Kristen was home at 8:30. We snuggled for a few minutes before Kristen collapsed in my arms and we slept.
Slipped out of bed around 9:30 or 10:00, ate, read, hopped onto AIM and Chaotic to be entertained by
trillain and
dustkitten, went apartment hunting.. or started to. There are WAY too many sites for apartments in Philly, but I should look in the city the job is in, so.. I didn't do too much there.
Kristen woke up about 3:00 and we got dressed, showered and headed out to do some errands and maybe do dinner out.
Decided to try Outback Steakhouse. There was a huge line, so we put in a "phone in' request for 8:00 and headed to the mall. Kristen needed bras and I wanted us to stop in Michaels to look for a photo book to put "us" photos into. Ended up do some bra shopping, but.. well.. it was more confusing and boring than I expected. We did find a photo book at Michael's though. :D Yay! :D
Got to the Outback Steakhouse and.. something was off there. Maybe the lighting (it was bothering Kristen), maybe the rampant smell of beer and beer-based excretions, but something was bugging us about that. We looked at the menu.. hokey smokeys.. everything is way expensive! So we left before we say down. Good riddance!
Ran through Wegmans to get a hamburger helper and made dinner at Kristen's. Finished dinner, watched some Farscape and that was it for me. Was asleep about midnight and Kristen joined me at 4:15
Sunday
Woke up about 9:00, wandered to eat and read my book and Kristen stumbles out. Apparently she was awake after only about 4 hours of sleep and just couldn't go back to sleep. Umm.. K.
So we woke up, showered and decided to do a few more errands.. this time in a mall in Victor (near the Eastern end of the 490). Damn that mall was cool! Wouldn't mind going back when I had money and looking around. I can see myself having fun getting in trouble there :)
Ended up wandering into the Build-a-Bear workshop and Kristen bought me a stuffed Leopard (I had, a couple months back, arrived with a stuffed bear eventually named "George". We both wanted me to have something too. So, I do. :) ). The embarassing part was when we went to get it stuffed. They have this thing where you put these little stuffed hearts into the animal before closing it. So she gave one to both of us. We had to put it on our hearts and pour love into it, put it on our stomach and pour chicken (my choice, at the time, of my favorite food) into it, then wish something and kiss it before they put the hearts into the leopard. It was cute and embarassing at the same time. I needed to name the beastie and after coming up with a few ideas, finally called him Spots. So, I now have an adorable stuffed Leopard named Spots :D
Left with my leopard, did lunch at Johnny Rockets, wandered around for a while and then left as Kristen got too tired to enjoy roaming the mall. When we got back, I watched some more Farscape while Kristen napped. After that, we did dinner and then one more episode of Farscape before having to leave.
A good weekend, altogether, if a bit quiet for my tastes. That's OK, though. :)
I'm not done with sunday, though.
Got home about 9:45 to find out that Josh and my mom had had another fight about jobs.
Mom had wanted a few things done before Linda the cleaning lady got here today. Josh was too busy talking on the phone and using her computer to do them. They fought and Josh stormed out and decided to spend the night with his friend, Silvio.
I'm sure there's more to the story and I'm sure I'll hear it when those two talk things out as they damn well should.
So I came home, mom explained that Josh had left and that there were things Josh didn't do that needed to be done... and so I took out cat litter, did a little cleaning around the house and helped mom get upstairs before collapsing into my bed and falling asleep.
Today
Woke up early, got onto AIM and, yay, a Kristen was there waiting for me! We talked for about an hour, though I wasn't awake and she was distracted somewhat. I did put my FTP site up and Kristen uploaded a few things and downloaded.. more than a few things :) (Not that I mind terribly :) )
Went back to bed, got up for Linda, took a nap after she was done with my room.. then combed my hair and went out to get more applications.. today I hit Bed Bath and Beyond, A.J. Moore and PetsMart. Petsmart was SUPPOSED to be having open interviews at 2:00, so I came back to there at 2 to find out they were short managers so no one could interview us today, but that's OK because most of what they could offer is nothing I'd REALLY be thrilled to do. Stock I wouldn't mind. Cleaning up Fish Shit? Nah. Thanks, though.
Called back placed from Monday too, but due to holidays, either people aren't here or they haven't looked at the applications yet.
Tommorow I'll hit Media Play, Best Buy, Wegmans and Tops. *shrug*
I could be gettign a whole bunch at once, but I HATE filling out these things and it cramps my hand up after a little while.
Also, I needed to be home by 3:00 today to give my mom the message that Josh wants to talk to her, but only if she'll be quiet and NOT yell at him. She told me to tell him to go to hell. She wants an apology first. Then, once he has apologized and admitted his wrongdoing, and only then will she talk to him.
Lovely.
We'll probably watch some more West Wing tonight. She doesn't wanna go out because the weather is bothering her asthma. That's fine with me, really.
Wednesday night, see Kristen.
Thursday night, TWO Thanksgiving Dinners
Friday Night, maybe watch Two Towers Extended with Dave, Todd and Scott
This weekend... see Kristen
Yay full week :) Yay something to look forward to besides filling out applications :p
*snugs Spots tight*
