A very interesting editorial regarding the hook up and romance"

I want to talk about my Valentine's Day/weekend. As soon as I can, I'll post.

Try BugMeNot (http://www.bugmenot.com/) - that should do the trick.

I was quite amused to be passed straight through to the article, with "Welcome, BugMeNotRocks!" at the top of the page. Guess they remembered my "login" from awhile ago ;)

I find the most interesting thing about the article is how little it gets into anything that would be really interesting. Like, the question of WHY this is happening. What's the reason people are doing this? Are there any real numbers on where it's happening, or how many people take part in hook-ups in areas where the behavior has spread?

It's okay for an editorial, but it's a really really lacking in information to convey. I get that the person writing the piece doesn't like this, but other than that I have little idea about whether I should be concerned about it. I'm left completely in the dark as to whether it's important at all.

"At the end of the night, I could have batted my eyes, given him a hug, and said 'Thanks for a wonderful evening.' But in today's society, that is rude. A hug is the universal sign for 'not interested.' "

Uh?! If that was the case in the circles I frequented when I was single, I'd have given every girl and guy I dated the 'sign for not being interested' and have been alone a loooooooong time. But then, I love hugs :)
