I want to post the following editorial from Washington Post.com: (link) where a member of the media elite goes off on what's wrong with the mainstream american media today.
The highlight of the article (in my eyes): the author admits that to get truly unbiased news, she turns on BBC.

Well, she says "the elite" claim that's where they get unbiased news, but then she confesses BBC is too sober and boring for her taste.

Meh. American media sucks.

I honestly doubt the BBC is completely unbiased, they just don't have the same biases as the American media.
That said, on the rare occasions I read the news without being linked to it, I read the BBC as well.
