And now time for LITE's Review of Stuff!
We'll start with Aida. As I said, I went to go see Aida with my mom, grandma, Josh and grandma's friend, Dorothy.
The musical was phenomenal. I enjoy the soundtrack (it's why I'm listening to it now), but Josh didn't seem to enjoy it much. I suspect he was in a bitchy mood, though, since he bitched me out for chewing gum before the show.
So... for the Story.. Howard gives it 8 / 10... sometimes a bit off or overdone, but generally good
For amusement factor... Howards gives it 8 / 10... it'll definately keep you entertained. And there are a few great laughs, but I've seen musicals that kept you laughing and this wasn't one of those.
For Music.. Howard gives it 7.5 / 10... understand.. i DO like the soundtrack and I think Elton John did well. But there's no breakaway hit like on his other soundtrack (Lion King). The songs ARE memorable and good. I think maybe I was expectant of something I didn't get.
For Dancing.. Howard gives it 10/10... I don't generally care for dancing, especially when it very rarely has ANYTHING to do with the plot, but past that, the Dancing was great. Even I enjoyed it!
For sets and dressing... I'd give it 8 / 10... they definately used 21st century technology to good effect. The sets weren't too complicated but they didn't need to be. My only issue (and this did bother me) was that the Nubians were, by and large, Black and the Egyptians were, by and large, White. And that bothered me. Yes, yes, I'm a stickler for stupid things like that.
But, all in all, Aida was great. If any of y'all have a chance to go see it, I strongly suggest it.

And now a review of a totally different sort.
My review of Dino Digs.. the Add-on to Zoo Tycoon.
I enjoy Zoo Tycoon quite a bit. It's challenging and fun to build exhibits for a bunch of different animals. It's nice to make both animals and guests happy. The game appeals to my managerial side.
So Dino Digs definately adds to all the fun. You have over 20 dinosaur and Ice Age species (approximately 18 dinosaurs, I believe and 4 Ice Age beastes) you can add to your guest. This expansion rocks. It adds on to everything that's great in Dino Digs: new animals, new spectacles (like the Dinosaur Cinema), New Scenery etc.
Dinosaurs that I've seen include most of the famous ones (it's obvious they've been keeping a big eye on the Jurassic Park movies): Stegosaurus, Ankylosaurus, Velociraptor, T-Rex, Apatosaurus, Spinosaurus. There's, of course, a Wooly Mammoth and a Smilodon (Sabre-toothed cat) as well.. and a few lesser known set of dinosaurus.. kentrosaurus, caudipteryx, Herrerasaurus etc.
All in all, this is a great add-on and instead of talking about it, I think I'll go play it instead. :D
See y'all latahz.

The white/black Egyptian/Nubian thing is actually carried over from the original Aida, where it was used to highlight the cultural differences for those who weren't necessarily able to understand the opera as well in Italian. I'd like to see this one, though, since I've actually ONLY seen the original.

Go for it. Like I said, I enjoyed it muchly. And it was in English too (a major issue with Opera and why I hate it.. so little of it is in English and reading a translation above the stage stops me from being able to watch what's going on on the stage.)
