*nod* I understand. Being white and male has probably helped shaped the experiences that shape my viewpoint. It is often difficult to look past that, and for that, that usually means having a conversation with.. my wife or someone else I'm comfortable talking to with a different viewpoint on life than I.
I think as I read your argument on why Quotas Make Sense.. you're probably pretty close to the truth on why they exist. Because life isn't fair and because that probably is the only LEGAL way to put pressure on those parts of the system that would otherwise continue the racism,.
I'm still not sure that I think they're right, but at the very least, I can understand and respect that argument.
