A Week (tm)

hkellickIt has been.. a heck of a Week.
The fun started Sunday night. K has been spotting for weeks now. Generally small and innocuous, never explained. Sunday, it turned bright red again. Sunday evening she took a bath and long story short started dripping blood into the tub. It was incredibly frightening and rather disturbing.
Needless to say, we were back at K's OBGyn Monday Morning. The doctor offered some ideas about what might be going on, but still nothing concrete. (As the doctor pointed out the LAST time we were in the OBGyn, if they knew something concrete, that would probably be a BAD thing at that juncture.)
That day, I just couldn't deal with it anymore, the frustration, the anxiety, the not KNOWING and helplessness. So.. long story short, we both took the rest of the day off to be able to cope.
I ended up downloading and playing "Tales of Monkey Island: Chapter 1" for the Wii and was rather amused. It was only $10 (and only about that much material), but interesting nonetheless. Plus, MONKEY ISLAND! :D
Tuesday, of course, was my birthday. It was also catchup day at work. Tuesday, I went out to lunch with my coworkers. And then dinner with my wife. :D And then I got a birthday present, Boom Blox Bash Party!
Wednesday things got ugly again. This time at work. There's a case I have that's gotten politically charged. The midden started to hit the windmill on Wednesday when a series of emails threw this politically charged case to the forefront (ie you can't work on anything else.) and I found out I had a 2 1/2 hour call of DOOM next Monday starting at 9.
Thursday, K got her nuchal translucency exam done and they finally had an answer to all the mysterious bleeding and spotting. Subchorionic hemorrhaging. Not life threatening, but could be problematic for the baby if we don't deal with it now, since it COULD mean the placenta COULD detach from the uterus. So.. no dance for a while. Walking is apparently OK, but no dancing.
So.. now we know and we have a plan of sorts to deal with it. Thursday I tried to grab my instructor and explain to him what was going on and ask him, basically, what do we do? K's given me permission to take a few lessons without her. Do I do that or do we take a break early? Waiting to talk to my instructor still.
Friday was OK but just incredibly busy and DOOMY because of the approaching phone call.
And that finally leaves today. I headed off to Ballston to hang out with CC friends and we headed off to the Smithsonian American History Museum. Oh, and I convinced K to get tickets to Walking with Dinosaurs: The Arena Spectacular, because at heart I am still a five year old boy and this is TOTALLY up my alley. :D'
