Negative politics should be banned. If someone is an unfit candidate, then that should be based on something they did that's illegal and should be taken care of in a court of law. The court of public opinion should be about what you are going to do. (Which is just stating what you already said...but I agree!)
Edit: And, that's one of the huge things pissing me off about the GOP right now. I wish they would focus on getting something done, on advancing the country, and not "bad politics".
