I agree with you about negative politics, but I know they work too. :/ I personally prefer candidates who run on what they WILL do, no matter what party they run for, but they are few and far in between. Even Obama attacked McCain a few times.
And I agree that I'm getting frustrated with the GOP obstructionism, which is what I think you're saying. But I think they feel they have to. I think they feel that they DON'T have anything new to add to the conversation, so much like the negative politics ads, if you have nothing to say about yourself, you just go and attack the opposition.
I don't see this helping the GOP Death Spiral they're caught in. I don't feel like they've gotten why they've been spanked over the last two election cycles and I honestly see the spanking continuing until they do. It wasn't ONLY because people were upset at Bush, but because the GOP is making far more enemies than fans. They've lost inroads with Women, with Latino-Americans, with African-Americans, with college students, with.. pretty much everyone. All the polls I read say that Obama's shine may be wearing off a bit and they may not all agree with his plans to fix Health Care, but they are alot less happy, as a whole, with the GOP members of congress.
