Dork-A-Thon

OK, I REALLY need to post this. So I'll just post it.
I need to have some idea of what peoples plans for getting to the Dork-A-Thon, where they plan to stay, how long etc.
That way I can work out a schedule to pick up anyone I need to (such as kholnuu) and to get hotel rooms for those that need them.

The plans I know are..
Getting There
Dawn, Oliver and Kristen can all drive up easily from Rochester.
Don't know about Trillian, but given that she's somewhat close to Rochester, maybe someone could pick her up. Otherwise.. bus, I'd guess.
Jen, Robby, Mark, Janine and John will all drive over from Boston
Derek's taking the bus down from Manitoba and I'll either pick him up at the bus station or (more preferably) figure out how to get him to the UB South Campus and pick him up there.
Sleeping Arrangements
I can have up to two people staying at my house.
For those that don't know the house rules.. guys can sleep in the same room as other guys. Girls can sleep in the same room as other girls. Unless married, girls and guys may not share a bedroom.
If you let me know ahead of time, I can get hotel rooms for anyone. The more ahead of time you let me know, the easier it will be for me to get cheap prices.
Dawn, Oliver and Kristen... you planning on staying in Buffalo overnight or going back to Rochester?
I'd suggest if you want to go midnight bowling with the rest of us, you stay in Buffalo overnight. We get out of Bowling at 2 or 3 in the morning and it would be a longish drive home that you'd be tired for.
I will leave it up to you folks to fight over who gets to sleep in the Casa De LITE! ;)
Leaving Arrangements
Undetermined, but probably follow the same basic style as the getting here arrangements.

Anyways, let me know and we'll start hammering some details into place :)

We are looking at something like this:

Stay with blackfelicula's parents (if possible) Thursday night.
Get hotel room Friday night.
Come back to Rochester Saturday night.

That might preclude us from going to midnight bowling, but I don't want to be gone TOO long. So we'll wait and see. If we can in fact stay with Felicula's parents, we may be able to stay at the hotel Saturday night as well. If we can't, then we'll be doing 2 nights at the hotel, and I can't justify doing all three nights.

Also a possibility - I think ecwoodburn mentioned that her parents might let us crash there, in separate rooms. So that might be do-able, as well... depending on what they say.

Addendum/clarification: basically, at this point, blackfelicula needs to find out from her parents about Thursday night, and I need to find out from my 'rents about pretty much the whole weekend.

BTW, they have a pool in the backyard that they're always complaining is sorely underused. s:)

I don't want to such like Mister Mooch, but if I could stay at your place, that'd be uber-good. Tickets are a tad bit costly as it is.

As far as figuring out when I can get there, I'll grab you online and chat that out. Same goes for leaving I guess.

Um... there was something else.... oh yeah. What's your scheduled list of events, so I can figure out how an approximate amount of cash to bring with meeeee.

Er, LITE? c_C My parents have cars. I can hitch a ride.
But if it's gonna be overnight, I'd rather stay at your place than make them take me there, drive me home, then do it again the next day.

Yes, that is what it means. :) You'll have been able to be a part of Lasertron and Midnight Bowling.
Dunno how much you'll miss otherwise. Probably just some sitting around the house and dorking together. :)

I am planning to drive out on Friday and back on Sunday, and I'm kinda assuming the rest of the Massachusetts crew will want to do similar. Therefore I would also vote for Friday night for midnight bowling, I'd hate to drive all day after not getting enough sleep the night before. Plus after driving all day I'll probably want to unwind anyway.

I guess we'll need a couple of hotel rooms, the exact number depending on how much we want to share space.

Yeah. Well, Janine works until 4pm, so if we did head out we'd have to try to blast as soon after that as we could, and we could make it to Buffalo by 10pm or 11pm depending on traffic. (Whether it's being traffuck or traffuc or just traffic remains to be seen.)

Uh... yeah. All sounds good. Janine and I can probably do a hotel room. This time we won't have a car full of stuff, so we could probably share a room or something. I'm not opposed to it, all depends on everybody else. ^_^

I see three choices..
A) See if Janine can get off for one day
B) Be here by 11:00 absolute latest (since if we do midnight bowling, we'd need to leave my house about then, as you recall.)
C) Skip bowling and meet up with us mid-morning/early-afternoon.
Think about which is easiest and best for you two. :)

If y'all wanna leave mid morning and be here by 6 or 7 or so, that'd work :)
Then no big worries about midnight bowling :)
