Weird Al Concert Review

*ahem* FUCK YEAH!!!
Another awesome Al Concert!!! XD

Yesterday was an OK day. Not great. Not terrible.
Got to Todd's house at 2:30 while Todd played not one but two games simultaneous (Civ III and, when not his turn, 007 Agent Under Fire). Yes, Todd is a dork too :)
We waited for Scott to show up so we could roleplay, but.. once again, he forgot and ended up coming too late. So we ended up not roleplaying at all. (*pout*)
Josh came over at 4:30 and we ended up playing a three-way game of Super Smash Brothers (the original N64 game)
I love that game, man! Hehehe.
I won some, lost some.. I'm pretty good with Yoshi... pretty good with Pikachu too.
Anyways, we WERE going to go out to eat at 5:30 but Todd's Father made linguine pasta, so we ate that instead. Was good..
I love linguini. It's my favorite pasta. :D I just love the creme sauce.
We headed out the door about 6:30, parked and went in.

The opener was... actually, he wasn't all that good. He was trying, but not succeeding. Last Al concert the opener was a hypnotist who wasn't only good, but really worked the audience well.
There was a slight break and then Al came on at 8:00

He did Dog Eat Dog!! In the old 80s Talking Heads outfit (too big jacket) and I swear, for a second he was channeling David Byrne as he stopped, looked horrified and spun around. It was so funny I laughed outloud and Todd looked at me oddly.
And he did Melanie! My favorite Al love song!! MELANIE!
And.. oh god.. when he did Wanna B Ur Lovr, coming out dressed like Beck in a white suit with a too short tie and sang each of these outrageous pickup lines at the girls in the front circle. (Or best yet when he goes up to some girl says "Did I Ever Tell You You've Got Yugoslavian Hands?" stops and looks horrified as he sings "No, of course not. That would be stupid. Pretend I didn't say that.")
Of course, he came out to do Couch Potato in the Grey Hoodie looking very Eminem-like and he came out to do Trash Day in a sports shirt.
It was an awesome concert. Absolutely awesome!

One down.. one to go.
Next concert.. July 17th.. the best of the best.. They ARE Giants (well, in my mind).

Getting over to Buffalo for TMBG on the 17th is one of the few things that wasn't steamrollered by mechanchaos' new schedule... Yay! for visiting my folks, and getting to see TMBG for the first time.

To tell you the truth, I tend to be rather shy in crowds of people that I don't know. That and I have a horrid memory for faces. In other words, I don't remember much other than talking to Peasland, standing in a long line, and being inspired to give them one of my red yo-yos. ***sheepish***
