The Big Post
Jul. 11th, 2002 11:11 amYou knew this was coming. Or maybe you should have.
Lots going in. Some good, Some less than good, but I'm going to try to write about all of it.
First off, my computer is back in the shop. I went to get it out of hibernation two afternoons ago.. and it wouldn't get out of hibernation. Tried to restart a couple of times. Nothing. Tried to power down. Nothing. Turned the power bar off and it turned off.. and wouldn't turn back on. It's at CompUSA at the moment. Hopefully they'll look at it soon. Hopefully. I miss my computer :(
And I'd just gotten all The SIms expansions back on and started played them!
bah!
The other end of this, part of why I'm so angry is it cost $100 to just get them to LOOK AT IT!
Every time I have a little money put away :P
So I don't know what's wrong. Hopefully it's easy and cheap to fix. :P
Luckily, before panicking, I did my finances and I still have enough to pay for all the Darien Lake tickets and such. (Actually, I'm lucky because the day before we go to Darien Lake is pay day, so, absolute worst case, I can get tickets then.)
So... now I just got to get my computer back.
Thank god for the brand new work computer. It's OK being on here, even if I don't want to put any game on this computer.
Speaking of games.. they just announced another Sims Expansion Pack (Yes, another.) This one is extremely exciting to me. It will be called The Sims: Unleashed. It will feature five new career tracks, farming (you'll be able to plant and harvest crops), a new section to go to.. oh, and pets. Puppies, Kitties, Lizards, Parrots.. whatever you want. You can read the official press release here. *dances merrily and cannae hardly wait!*
In other news, my friend Todd just invited me to Darien Lake yesterday on August 4th. Basically, there's some vetereniarians meet there. My ticket and one (possibly both, but at LEAST one) meal would be paid for. So I said.. sure, what the hell. I need to go to Darien Lake this year. Why, you ask?
I'll remind those that don't remember.
One of the many reasons I worked so hard at losing weight this last year was that, last year,
kareila, arabella and myself went to Six Flags: Darien Lake. I had fun.. but a couple of things stand out in my mind from that day. 1) We went on the Viper (a roller coaster), and felt.. uncomfortable.. in the seats. A picture near the end shows me looking positively in pain. 2) We went on the Superman: Ride of Steel (another roller coaster) and I practically blushed because I had to ask for help to get my seat belt on. 3) We went into the water park and I was positively embarassed to be seen in a bathing suit. No one said anything, but *I* was embarassed.
Now, 60+ lbs. thinner... I need to show myself that I can fit into the rollercoasters properly, have fun and... I already know I look better in a bathing suit.
So, in a way, I sort of need to prove something to myself. And if I do it on the fourth instead of the tenth... that's one less thing to think about on the tenth.
Anyways, I love Darien Lake.
The TRICK will be, as money is tight, I'm going to try to spend no more than $20. $30 absolute tops. That means... I'm going to only eat when hungry, no games, no souveneirs. Just enjoy myself, ride the rides and see the sights. :)
I'm sure I'll enjoy myself. Like I said, I love Darien Lake :)
In other words, I find it greatly amusing that Vice President Cheney is being sued for fradulent accounting. This wouldn't be so damned amusing if Arthur-Andersen weren't in the middle of this one, too. Oh, the tangled webs we weave, eh?
But it's no secret that I DO NOT like Vice President Cheney.
Still... I find the irony of it amusing. Bush is being pushed to crack down on big business and is trying to force CEOs to behave, which is probably bad enough with his supporters (Bush is notably in good relations with much of big business) and.. here Cheney is, being sued. Will Cheney have to face the new punishments Bush wants to impose?
Oh, the amusement!
What else?
Getting excited about August 10th. Lots of cool people. This will so rock. XD
Not much else I can think of that I wanna say. So.. I guess I'll finally post this.
