Music Xchange Ramblings and Question
Jul. 15th, 2003 11:09 amFirst off, let me see if I remember who is taking part of the Music XChange... the following people will be bringing CDs of some sort:
lite,
ecwoodburn,
kareila,
janinedog,
xb95 (possibly Marky and Janine combined),
kholnuu and
trillain.
Also,
kolys and
dawnstar are nominally part of the Music Xchange, but aren't making CDs, just bringing their laptop with all their music along.
I'm wondering how many people here want an actual burned CD (from me and/or other people) and who wants just the mp3s in an easy to find place?
EDIT:When I say make a CD, I meant burning a MP3 CD :) For those that didn't get that :)
Actually...

So, due to lack of sleep I started working on the list of songs I was going to add. It sort of lead to some interesting twists.
Originally, I wanted to make a CD of songs that (most likely) nobody but me had heard much of before.. stuff from mp3.com, some covers I had found (both techno remixed and rock remixes), some bob rivers, some chumbawamba etc.
And I could do that.. but I didn't feel like I was being truly fair to myself. Some of the stuff I threw on was pretty darned cool (I like every song on my machine, but some I like more than others), but.. there was just only a spark of.. LITEness to the CD.
So I went back.. and was like.. well Kristen has heard this song, but I don't think anyone else has.. I'm pretty sure I sent this to Jen once (or got it from Jen.. or in the case of TMBG, Jen has it too), but this is cool and I wanna share.
Heh. A CD shouldn't give me so much grief, but it is.
I dunno. I guess I'm just two minded about the whole process. I want to give people music that they DON'T Have, that they listen to and say "Hey, that's cool." or "Nah, not my thing." For me, that's the whole point of the Music Xchange.
But on the other.. what's the point of making a CD that doesn't have that.. taint o LITE? I dunno.. I guess I think that the best CD is a CD that I want to put into my own car and listen to for a while.
I'll probably end up balancing it out. Some lesser known TMBG, some TMBG covers, some lesser known stuff, some UNKNOWN stuff.
That might be good.
