Another good weekend with [livejournal.com profile] ecwoodburn. It feels a bit shorter than it probably was, but that's because, due to stress, she didn't sleep too well this weekend, so spent most of the weekend either sleepy or sleeping.

Saturday, she arrived about 7:15 and was already tired. We went out to dinner. The plan was to do a fairly nice Mexican Place, I can't think of the name at the moment. We got there, though, and it was way overcrowded, so we settled for IHOP instead. Ate there, ended up killing time looking for a photo album (Never did find one we liked) at a couple of stores near the Movie Theatre, then went to see School of Rock. She seemed to enjoy the movie and I enjoyed it (even though it was my second time seeing it).
That was it for the night. Got home and Kristen was just pooped.

Had a bitch of a time sleeping Saturday. I'd slept alot during the week so I theorize (especially as I was NOT exhausted) that my body was making up for that by choosing to not allow me to sleep at all. Ended up finally falling to sleep about 6:00, after the cats were fed, and not for terribly long.
Kristen apparently had similair difficulties, though, for her, it was because she was really worried about her car.
I was up at 9:00 or so and ended up visiting her at 10:00 because she'd had a nightmare regarding her family and her car and just needed to be held, so I did. She drifted back to sleep until i woke her up at noon.
Got up, got dressed, ate and got ready.. then went to go see the Buffalo Chips.. again (well, again for me.) The show was still niftylicious and certainly some of the lead singers had loosened up more to give a slightly better show, but there was not so much difference between the show Sunday and the show Friday, so...
Ended up going to her parents house so she could talk about the car and see if they were willing to help. We stuck around for about 2 1/2 hours, being sociable. It wasn't terrible, and it's good towards paving the way if the time ever comes when I need to ask her father for permission to marry her. I was even invited to Thanksgiving dinner at 2:00 with them, which I will try my best to do. The hope is to do dinner with Kristen's family and then do dinner with my family, if she's still invited. I'll need to check this through first my mother and then my grandmother.
Speaking of, Kristen, how should I dress? Regularly? A little more formal? What?
Anyways, got home about 7:00, spent some down time together, but Kristen was falling asleep on me (which as she said was about the only time she seemed able to really relax. At about 8:30, my mom went upstairs, so I suggested we go watch Farscape together. It gives me something to do while she falls asleep and I really like the show (even more so, having watched a few more episodes. I wanted her to leave the tapes here so I could watch more of the episodes. It just means that we may need to plan a Farscape-o-than or something. I can see I'd have to twist Kristen's arm to do this too ;) ). So I watched two episodes while Kristen dozed off at my side and, altogether, it was pretty good. I was entertained. She was relaxed and got to nap. It was.. good.
We had decided previously that Kristen was probably too tired to drive home last night, so after Farscape, I went off towards bed and she took a nap on the first floor.

I awoke at 4:00 and she was up, trying very hard to be asleep. We spent a couple more hours together (and watched one more episode of Farscape. Did I mention I like this show? :) ) and then she disappeared at 6:00 :(
So.. it was a pretty good weekend. Dunno what we'll do next weekend, but I'll try very hard to get up there. Quality time with Kristen is a rare but important commodity still at the moment.

So, I called Jacques Whitford again today, trying to get a hold of Mrs. Archibald. I called about 9:30 and got her answering machine.. saying she won't be in today, but she will be tommorow. D'oh! So.. I left ANOTHER message. And I'll call her again tommorow.

Got into school, read LJ and saw [livejournal.com profile] dustkitten's LJ post suggesting a CD with the "Best of 2003", stuff they picked up this year.
And started writing a list of things I could think of, off the top of my head, that I had gotten into this year. Stuff new this year and stuff I had just sort of found along the way and was like "Oo. I like that!"
Below is a list of new favorite songs that I came into this year.. Realistically, if I have the choice of two or three songs from that list, I'd probably go with the Barenaked Ladies, Weird Al Yankovic, and probably, if I needed a third, "School of Rock" (since everyone's heard Evanescence).
I can see myself doing my own CD, though, especially as I keep coming up with songs :) And cause I just have so much cool music :) Especially as this is without going through my music collection to see what else I did NOT think of

Still amused that 2/3 of the "other dorks" list is because of me. s:)

Hmmm...stuff I got into this year, regardless of when it actually came out:
Ryan Adams, "New York New York"
Collider, "Ground the paper planes" *remembers mild obsession with this after first exposure*
Carbon Leaf, "On Any Given Day" (ditto...as well as other CL stuff)
Evanescence -- Resisted the hype as long as I could, and then suddenly could not escape "Bring me to life" and had little desire to do so. Ah well. s:)
Coldplay, "Clocks". You mean that wasn't this year, that was last year?
Ani DiFranco, "Evolve". Wheee, Ani!

Um...will have to check other stuff from home.

Yep. Apparently Coldplay's album actually came out August of last year. :)

I should have immediately set up anti-Evanescence veto rights :)

Perhaps. As it turns out, I did NOT vote Evanescence onto the island. (Personally) Because it got so overplayed. BnL and Weird Al for me :), "Clocks" if you allow it, maybe the School of Rock song :)

Two (2) official Turkey Day dinners? Pixies are hatched with all the luck.

What to wear at mum and dads? I vote for brown shoes, light brown corduroy pants (Khaki OK too) and a nice lightweight dark blue sweater with a light blue polo shirt (or a dress shirt) underneath. Skip the tie.
