I'm thinking that, assuming that livejournal sticks around for another four years, I'm probably going to continue to post some major political rants.
I'm thinking, all things considered, it might be worth it to not piss off everyone who reads this LJ, so I think I'm going to make a Politics filter. Who wants on?

EDIT: It occurs to me.. I've had this LJ for a little over three years (probably closer to three years, three months). I've never used a filter. I've posted rants, not just against bush and other local politics, but on topics such as equality, education and my vision for a better America. (OK, I'm being nice here. Most of my rants can come off as stupid and small-minded, even if I'm not trying to be.)
But I guess I feel like things are different now. I may have already upset at least one friend by my political spouting and I can still feel the need to go through it and over it a little bit more to really feel ready to move on.
So.. yeah.
Three years and three months later, time to start filtering posts.

Yes please! I've never known as much about American politics before, and it's actually quite interesting! :)

...Now I just need to get up-to-date on Danish politics as well... ;)

On the one hand, I agree. I have an anti-Bush filter.

On the other hand, I've stopped using it because I want the pro-Bush people to see it. I want them to know how I feel, why I feel the way I feel. I want them to explain their support for their candidate [which they almost never do]. I want them to justify supporting someone who backs hate and inferiority for anyone but his favourite group of people.

A filter won't allow that.

The issue with that, at least for two people, all of my friends are democrats. Of those two, only one voted for Bush this last election. So I doubt I'll get many pro Bush supporters to answer MY questions.
Also, there's a difference between asking a question and making a rant. I'll sometimes ask questions, but more often than not, I tend to rant.

Hence why I'm thinking this filter.

The only things I ever filter are personal issues and fandom, but the recent fallout has made me wonder about making a politics filter as well. Of course, I generally try not to discuss politics/religion/the Great Pumpkin at all...

Anyhow. Count me in!
