Note: This is NOT a sexist post. I'm just really frustrated with a certain girl. (I won't call her a woman. Woman suggests maturity and wisdom, neither of which I believe she has.)

Today was probably better than yesterday, but I'm grumpy nonetheless.
I slept well, which is a relief. Woke up, went to school early to work on The Project. As a note, I rewrote sections of the Project last night because a Certain Someone had decided I was WRONG and had to rewrite bits and parts that were NEVER backed up and just stood there with no explanation, design or cost. So I took them out.
I emailed as such, explaining it.
So I get there and Jeff and Chris are there. I ask.. did you guys see my email? No, not really, they basically said. So I reexplained myself and my reasoning and they both seemed to agree. Then a Certain Someone came in and she, of course, didn't check her email either, but she blew. They did all this work (and it's true. The groups DID do alot of work and we slashed out alot of it to make one easy to read report. We HAD analyzed something like thirteen alternatives, but only wrote up four.) and the least we could do was put it in. In the end, I'm not sure how but I won and we started using my latest draft (I think it's because I added stuff that REALLY needed to be in the report that was easier to edit than just totally readd.) so from 9-11, everyone worked on things and editted the project.
11 comes and a Certain Someone had class. So she left and the three of us keep editting. It comes out that (as I suspected) a Certain Someone did absosmurfly no work on the project on Monday when I handed it to her and Jeff begged her to get stuff done Tuesday, but she "couldn't."
So, at 12, the three of us each went to seperate classes and meetings and a Certain Someone said she'd work on it.
12 was not a good hour for me. Here's the problem.. this POM model I'm running with is NOT commented well. I'm trying to follow the logic behind what the programmer did, but it isn't always self-evident. What I NEED out of the program is some output giving X and Y (or X and Z or WHATEVER) coordinates and velocity and diffusion values. This is what my thesis advisor wants me to work on and this is what I need. I have, so far, been unable to get it.
I spent the entire class combing through the code trying to figure it out, but to no avail and I was pretty grumpy and stressed over the whole design project anyways.
So I'm going to talk to my thesis advisor tommorow and get some direction because I know what I'm expected to do, but I know I need SOMETHING to pass this GIS course and I'm not sure I'm going to get it in the two weeks until the presentation. *sigh*
So... right after class, I go back to where we are working on the Design Project. On the way, I see a Certain Someone who said she didn't see where we were working BUT WE LEFT THE MONITOR ON and she was going to something at Bills Stadium (Drew Bledsoe came to Buffalo today and she, apparently, thought that was more important than getting the project done.) so I start to work exactly where we left it at 12:00. Chris and Jeff return and together we do get the project done on time. I don't think they were surprised Heather left, nor particular upset. In retrospect, it was probably best that way.. we did get done pretty quickly.
In the end, I'm not 100% confident that the quality of the draft is excellent. It's not TERRIBLE, but I wish it were better. In any case, the draft is done. We'll get LOTS of comments, criticisms and corrections in a short time span and, with them all, will probably end up rewriting most of the paper, but it will be GOOD and that, I think, is what will count.
So... finished the paper, got it sent thu UPS and went home. We ended up going to dinner (yay, perkins) and doing a few quick stops. Did a first draft of a section in the groundwater report and I'm done with homework, more or less just in time.
I shall be going to bed in short order. But first.. the points of the day (did I mention I like this idea?)

Bandit: -50 points for scaring the hell out of us. The idiot cat fell down a flight of stairs. He was watching me put the cieling tile that a cat had knocked out of the basement cieling back up and fell from the top of the stairs to the bottom and ran into the back basement. After having watched Merlin after he was stepped on, mom and I had instant nightmares. We caught up with him and he seemed shocked more than hurt and after a rigorous game of fetch, I'm sure he's OK, but jesus, he scared us!
Heather: -200, for being argumentative, nasty and not really helping to get this draft done. Sorry if this class demands too much work from you.
Jeff and Chris: +100 each for staying through the end and getting this draft done.
Vikram:+50 points for trying to chill me out as I freaked out in the middle of GIS class and for trying to look over the POM model.
Shing:-500 points for NOT PROVIDING enough comments or even a users manual so that someone could figure out what you were doing and how you were doing it.
All of you: +250 each for listening to my grumpiness and supporting and caring about me.

I think I'll head to bed. Good night all.

Wow. Hopefully I'll never have to work on a project with the likes of this Heather gal, though I'm sure that's too much to ask for. Is she blond? ;) *ducks assorted fruits* Anyway, *snugs* and hope it gets going better!

As a matter of fact, yes she *IS* blonde.
But she's also a blonde engineer. I wouldn't call Heather stupid. Not at all. Incredible selfish and self-centered, yes, but not stupid.
