If they tried to tell you they obviously didn't make themselves clear, which is their own issue. I'm not sure what to do about it. If it were me, I'd ask exactly what they said you did wrong and what you might be able to do about it... given that this is an /advisor/ supposed to be preparing you for the work force, he should /advise/.
