Let me begin by saying what I expected of this album as I'm not sure (yet. I'm writing this as I listen to the album) if this album is what I expect. I read that, for this album, Moby was inspired by 80's music. I thought the idea to be really cool. As many of y'all know, I LOVE 80s music, so the idea of an 80s inspired Moby album was really cool by me.
So, listening to the songs and giving impressions as I listen...

We are all made of Stars
Nice beat. It is rather 80'ish. I like it. :) Kinda dance-y

In This World
This song reminds me of the Natural Blues, but less... Bluesy. Not sure how to define it. Nothing particular '80s about this song, though, I don't feel. Nice orchestral bits, though. I like. Makes me want to close my eyes and get lost in that part of the song.

In My Heart
I love the Pianos, but the lyrics don't seem to meld with the bright happiness of the Piano. This one does remind me a bit more of '80s type of music. Can't help but think that, except for the Pinao, it sounds like In This World.

Great Escape
Reminds me of the Indigo Girls. Not completely certain why. I'm not sure I like it.

Signs of Love
I like this one more than the last one. Has more of the feeling I expect from a Moby song (though I can't explain what.) It's not bad either. Still not particularly 80s, though. I'm beginning to suspect that the person who said this album was inspired by 80s music LIED! Once again, I like the use of the fake orchestra and the piano.

One of these Morning
Reminds me of a song from Play. Definately not 80s type of music. Sounds more like.. old 60s rock and roll maybe. Like the Chantels or something.. but slowed down. That said, I kind of like the song.

Another Woman
Nice groovie beginning. Still doesn't sound particularly 80s, though. Sounds more like the same kind of early rock from One of these Mornings. Like this one too.

Fireworks
Ye Gods. Moby doing New Age music! Not terrible, but not my favorite song on the album.

Extreme Ways
Groovey, man. I like. Very cool. Maybe kinda 80's music based. I'm not sure. Cool, nonetheless :)

Jam for the Ladies
This is definately not 80s based. I'm not sure I like it. It's not catchy enough to forgive the hip hop style. I detest hip hop.

Sunday (the day before my birthday)
I like it. Even though the piano is almost directly like Natural Blues. Very quiet, but not bad. It just sounds too much like a few of his songs on Play.

18
The beginning reminds me of some Sci-Fi startrip. Like someone stargazing from a hill. That's just me, though. I like this song. It's quiet and slow, but I like it.

Sleep Alone
A little too... experimental for me. I don't like the backward melody. Don't like the weird keyboard thing in the middle either. Otherwise, it's OK.

At Least We Tried
This is a very melancholy song. I rather like this one too.

Harbour
Another quiet song, but the girl's voice sounds a bit.. off to me. Like her voice doesn't COMPLETELY match with the song. The song is OK, but I think I'm dying for a rocker. Something to really dance to. This isn't it.

Look Back In
Not bad. Good beat.

Rafters
Not Bad. Seems like the type of thing I'd have expected on Play.

I'm not worried at all
This one seems like it should be on Play too. It's not bad.

So... I'm a bit disappointed with 18. I'd say that it was an extension of Play. There were some nice songs and I enjoyed about half of it, but it wasn't what I expected (THEY LIED! IF THIS WAS BASED ON '80s MUSIC, I'M THE KING OF SPAIN!). So.. I dunno... Just gotta remember to Napster an album before I buy it. Ah well.
