Vacation

I'm feeling better now that I'm seriously considering vacation plans. The problem is... none of these plans is looking too concrete.
Here are the thought I had so far and the issues with each.
1) I'd LOVE to go to Seattle. if I had the money, this is first priority place. The problem is the money. It's gonna take $400 or so dollars to get from here to Seattle. I'm not sure I have that kind of money to spend. Also, I'm slightly worried, based on a conversation I had with Marky, that July would be bad with him due to the possibility he may have to pay rent by himself. That may or may not be true, but it's something I'm keeping in mind.
2) Idea two was NYC. I've been there recently and I thought it was really cool. I'd really like to see the sites, maybe meet up with [livejournal.com profile] circe and/or [livejournal.com profile] pupcake. I could probably afford the flight, too. The problem is... I'm not sure I want to go all by myself. I DO have a cousin who has offered for me and a couple friends to stay at his place, but my mom told me that if I invited more than one friend I'd be "using him" and she'd kill me. It's not worth the fight.
3) If I wanted to, I could probably get in with [livejournal.com profile] kolys and [livejournal.com profile] dawnstar on their trip to Boston to see [livejournal.com profile] kareila and [livejournal.com profile] alierak. Let me first start by saying I wouldn't mind this, but I've met [livejournal.com profile] kareila and [livejournal.com profile] alierak a few times before and I've seen parts of Boston. I'd really like to go somewhere new.

I have no fourth idea. No place else I'd really like to visit or no other person I really can afford to see (Sorry, Rhayden. I'd fly to Winnipeg, but I bet that's about as expensive as Seattle.) is coming to mind.

So.. ideas? Suggestions? Alternatives?
Help a poor pixie find someplace COOL to go to this summer and someone cool to hang out with! :)

Yes, but do you have twisters ;)
I've SEEN cows. And Comic Books. But I've never seen a cow fly out of a twister ;)
Well.. not first hand ;)

Party at my place?

Come to NYC! You and all your friends could come stay at my place... as long as none of them are allergic to cats. hopefully your mom wouldn't accuse you of using me. :) I do have lots of spare rooms now, and nothing to do with them. I was thinking of inviting all you people down for a weekend sometime in July anyway.

Heh. No. She wouldn't accuse me of using you. She'd accuse me of dating you and not telling her ;) (Well.. assuming I went alone, she would.) That DOES have possibilities, if you want to do it. :) Now, the question is... who can we get to come?
*looks around randomly at people like [livejournal.com profile] dawnstar or [livejournal.com profile] kolys or [livejournal.com profile] kareila and [livejournal.com profile] alierak*

I will be in NYC anyway for Macworld, July 17-19. Weekend after is best for me if people want to work with that.

Weekend after works by me. :) I just wanted to do it in July since Marky's coming over in August and June I'm doing the Great Lakes Summer Camp. :)

Yeah, that's good for me! [livejournal.com profile] jsc mentioned that she was considering having a little barbeque on the 20th, so I don't know if that's definite, but if it is, I'm sure the more the merrier. And my dad's birthday is the 18th, so there is a possibility I might have some family stuff to do that weekend, but most likely we'll end up doing dinner on Sunday and you guys'll probably be gone by then anyway. Or we may even do dinner on his real birthday.

Yay! I will definitely plan on this then. It's so rare that our schedules work out this well. :)

It's also rare that I schedule anything, but I think I'll be in San Diego then.

You could theoretically do it right before you fly out, then. But I assumed you wouldn't want to go to Macworld.

I forgot to ask before - Jen, do you have a place to stay during MacWorld? Because you're definitely welcome at my place during that week also. I just want to make sure you're not wasting money on a hotel or anything.

I think you meant [livejournal.com profile] lawchicky, not [livejournal.com profile] circe.

FYI. :)

Aw. If you came to Seattle, you'd get to see all the cool people, like me. :D I can understand the cash issue, though... as that is exactly why I am doing nothing this summer except work, (oh, and I guess one trip to California with my new job for this next year in August...). I am open all the weekends in July except the first, which is when my family is doing a big get together over in Yakima. You could always visit there, too, though... Yakima is one interesting place...

I'd offer a place to stay, but I think my parents are having relatives over a couple of the weeks in July...

YAY!

Bogged down with bar review I am, but I'd be so happy to see you guys if a NYC trip was planned. I wish I could offer you space, but there is none around here, and I'm too far away from where anyone would want to be anyway. My bar review session ends around 7/14, and I'll be brutally attached to my bar review books from then until the 30th, but I think I could and SHOULD spare an afternoon or evening for some relaxing during those two weeks, so this is prime opportunity.

Vacation Plans? Perhaps you could make a list of places you DON'T want to go .. For instance, India or Pakistan. Anyplace with cows. Anyplace where people ride around in a confederate decorated - late model Plymouth - yelling ye'haw out the window..
