New Project
May. 26th, 2002 09:00 amI've given myself a new project. It's going to be tough, but I think it's worth it. Dare I suggest, even necessary.
The problem is this...I have between 17 and 18 CDs of MP3s I like to listen to. I've been burning since I got this computer... a while back (about the time that Napster was free and hot and I'd discovered it). And, as I only have a limited amount of space on my computer, I burn... FAIRLY regularly.
So, when new CDs come out or I find new songs I want to burn, they go on whatever CD I'm burning.
This was an... issue.. when I was trying to find my 80s songs for that last quiz. Because I, literally, have an 80s hit on nearly every CD. Add to that the fact that I've got, for example, Bob Rivers songs on at least 6 CDs, Barenaked Ladies on two etc, you're getting the drift.
It might behoove me to sort through my CDs and try to regroup things into an intelligent design (for example, take this playlist I created of 80s hits I just created for this quiz and try to burn them to CD.
Not only that, but maybe take the time to make sure the filenames and ID3 tags are correct.
And also, once I've burned them, go through the not fun, but probably important task of getting a playlist of the songs on all the CDs so that I know where all my songs are.
And so that's my project. To sort through, reburn and list my MP3 collection.
Sound fun, doesn't it?
Well.. no... not really, but it'll be useful.
So... that's my big summer project.
I'll keep y'all updated on it. :)
