I have to admit, I've been incredibly.. disappointed in the Democrats.
Health Reform HAS to happen. It's THAT important. HMOs have turned into businesses, making millions of dollars by NOT serving you properly and there's been little anyone could do to stop them. Some of the HMOs practices are downright abusive, but again, no one's been able to do anything about them, and it does kill me that so many people are not afforded health care because they can't pay for it.
So, I support Obama's attempts to overhaul Health Care. I think, as I said above, it NEEDS to happen.
But... we've hit snags along the way. Not the Town House Meeting garbage. That's panic-driven obstructionism, annoying but not the problem.
The problem is that the Democrats can't agree on a plan. That despite Obama WANTING to overhaul Health Care, there isn't really a plan, a bill to try to argue that Congress NEEDS to push through.
I believe the current number of bills going through Congress at the moment is five. FIVE PLANS! This is ri-frikkin-diculous. And instead of working together to come up with a single plan which the country as a whole desperately wants, the Democrats are battling.
Personally, I'm a big believer in the Public Option but the more it's argued, the less likely it's becoming. There are those amongst my party (whom we shall call the Liberal Idiots) that feel that if the bill doesn't include the Public Option, it isn't even worth it at all!
And this make me want to smack them, hard, for their idiocy. We've been battling for Health Reform since NIXON 40 years ago. We fought it with Nixon, we fought it with Clinton and we're fighting it now and every person with a "My way or the highway" attitude ISN'T HELPING.
I think the Public Option is the right thing to do, but it shouldn't be the deal breaker, because SOME health care reform is still better than NO Health Care reform.
*shakes head*
One can only wish that the idiots we elected had the brains to understand that a partial victory is still better than a total failure and shaking their heads going "Well, it's not MY fault. it's the republicans."
Especially when that isn't true. There are no excuses here, with Democrats having large majorities in the House and Senate. There are no excuses and if these idiots can't get their act together, I think you'll see the voters respond come 2010.
:p
Balls on the Walls, Congress. Do you want Health Care reform, or do you want to look like a bunch of idiots that can't even put an incredibly popular bill together? Which is more important to you?
