Hooray for the fact that some stupid woman in Georgia need only say "I heard those three gentleman saying terrible things. I think they're terrorists." and they get stopped and she gets declared a hero.

To be fair, you can't tell which side is lying in that story. Either is plausible.

However, regardless, they held those men for way too long based on some lady's story.

You are correct, both could be lying.
I guess, though, as a grad student who works with other grad students of arab descent (not many, but a few), I tend to believe them.
