Let's see if any of you can be considered smart. I'll give you four questions. You see how many you can get correct. And no cheating now :) Just answer the questions first and no cheating by using a calculator or some such. If you can't answer without a calculator, you are obviously an idiot. :)

1. You are competing in a race and overtake the runner in second place. What place are you in now?

Answer: If you answered that you are now in 1st place than you are WRONG!
You overtook the second runner and are now in his place.
Hence, you are in second place.
Let's try again, then, shall we?


2. If you overtake the last runner, what position are you now in?

Answer: If you answered that you are in second-to-last place, you are WRONG!
Think about it. How can you overtake the last runner? You can't.
Hence you are in last place.
Once again, from the top.


3. Alright, a quick math question. Remember, if you use a calculator, you are not only a cheat, but too stupid to be smart.
Right.
Let's start with 1000. Add 40 to that. Add another 1000.
Add 10 to that. Add 1000 again. Add 20 more. Add another 1000.
Finally, add 30 more.
What's your sum?

MARIE's Mother has five daughters..
Hence the fifth daughter must be Marie

I got them all of course, but I disagree with their analysis on #2 -- I'd say you weren't in the race if you overtook the runner in last place. Marathon spectators do it all the time.

There is another answer to number two. It doesn't say what kind of race you are in, if it is a race around a track, you can overtake the last runner. I don't know what place you would be in though.....Depends on how slow the last runner is. :)
