I've been thinking alot about this thing with Iraq and North Korea and the US.

It boggles the mind.

Bush feels we have to find a diplomatic ends to the North Korea crisis, because we can't just go in there and attack them, for a number of reasons, especially including the American soldiers still stationed in places like South Korea and Japan that could be attacked in obvious retaliation, not to mention that blowing up North Korea's nuclear arsenal would most likely have negative effects on neighbors such as China, South Korea and Japan.
Basically the idea is, I think, they have the bomb so we can't just go and attack because things could be bad.

Iraq, on the other hand, does not have the bomb yet. They might soon, but they don't yet. On the other hand, they DO have biological weapons (and chemical, I believe) and have no problem using them, as they did during the Gulf War. So we should go and invade them. Nevermind that if we do invade them, Iraq will no doubt launch at Israel.
Hey, who cares about Israel, right? I mean, it's not US being killed.
After all, Bush seems to think we can get in and out of an urban war with minimum American losses.

So... despite the fact that North Korea is the bigger threat (and everyone from Time Magazine to CNN to Tom Brokaw has said so), Bush feels he should continue going after Iraq.

I don't understand how he can justify going after Iraq. I don't understand how we fall for it. I don't understand how we could have screwed up the elections not once, but twice.
Does no one understand what a war against Iraq REALLY mean?
It's like Vietnam. It honestly to god is.
Let's kill those commie bastards! Wait, they're not commies. Uh.
Let's kill those Muslim bastards!
Bastards, all of them!

That's why we should institute the draft.
No, I've decided this is a great idea.
Everyone of the age 18 to 26 should go to Iraq RIGHT NOW and start killing people. Men, Women and Children. They're all the enemies. They're all rotten filthy bastards. They all DESERVE to die because they're IRAQIS and BAD BAD BAD PEOPLE!
Who cares if some of us don't make it home alive, right? It's for a good cause! It's for the freedom of Iraq from itself and possibly some oil on the side.
We need to teach the world to RESPECT US!
WE ARE AMERICA! WE ARE INHERENTLY BETTER THAN YOU! WE AND ONLY WE KNOW WHAT IS BEST FOR YOU!
They need to RESPECT our might! And if some loud mouthed little country tells us that we're wrong? Like Saudi Arabia or Jordan? Well, fuck, let's attack them too, because WE ARE AMERICA AND WE CAN!
We are the ONLY nation in this entire world that matters?
The UN? They're a bunch of PUSSIES! Old men who sit around on their ass all day and do NOTHING! Creating them was the absolute worst idea we ever came up with!
What we really need to do is go back to conquering countries. We should start with Canada and Mexico, so we can stop being the measely United States of America and just be the United States of NORTH AMERICA. Because that name sounds so much cooler.
Oh, hell, we have the best military force in the world. We could invade the ENTIRE WORLD and become THE UNITED STATES OF EARTH!
That sounds infinitely cooler. We should definately do that.
But first, we need to KILL ALL IRAQIS! Fuckers! You emberassed us 10 years ago and WE AREN'T GOING TO FORGIVE YOU BASTARDS FOR IT!
So DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE!!!!

I don't know if you and I always see eye-to-eye on politics and such, but in this case, I think that, generally speaking, you are right on. I think that Bush has his head up his arse, and is blowing this entire Iraq thing way out of control. Attacking Iraq now is a complete and utter waste of time (and, inevitably, life).

That's only "generally speaking" because I'm too lazy to really examine all of your points. But I'm like that about everything that requires a lot of thinking. It's a character fault, I know.

That's also why I'm being cowardly and hiding behind a screened post. I wanted you to know I agree with you, but I'm too much of a wuss to actually debate it with someone should they disagree.

Alas, my political views will now be common knowledge. Don't flame me world, I can't be bothered to douse it.

Thanks.

I just don't agree with going to war lightly. War is not an antisepting thing. Go in, get just the right people and leave. It doesn't work like that. War is hell. Lots of innocents die. It's not something to just jump into.

Anyways, thanks.

As a 20-year old American male, I guess I'd better start preparing myself to suborn all my plans for the future to my motherfucking government.

Looks like it's the Peace Corps for me.

Hopefully not.
Just keep this in mind. In about 10 months, we vote for president.
Vote Democrat.
Get this idiot out of office.
However you slice it, he is the greater of two evils.

K first...calm down Lity..calm down =)
Second I agree. Bush is so obsessed with proving he's better then Daddy Bush he's totally ignoring a bigger threat. The fact is Iraq is working with UN weapon inspectors and N. Koera is kicking them out. Umm lets see..which is the bigger threat..well gee I dunno. =P You can do the math two ways..Normal math Iraq + threat=0 (currently) and N. Koera + threat=10..or do it by Bush math Iraq + threat + personal vendetta=100000 N. Koera + threat + personal vendetta=0
Personal vendetta cancels out the threat..=P

It wouldn't be so upsetting if we, the voters, had our chance to put an end to this and fucked up so that now we have a republican congress and presidency.
Not good. Not good at all.

I've only got one thing to say... YAY FOR LIVING IN CANADA!

I don't have to put up with Bush. At least, not in any way I care to think about. My willful ignorance about politics in general also help with this. :)
