So... yeah. Title says it all.

I will get the OFFICIAL invitation of employment Monday, in which they decide what sort of salary I'll be getting (I'm guessing low 40s, but maybe mid only because it's EXPENSIVE living there.), but I'm in.

I have very mixed feelings. I'm excited about a real job, about being able to move, about the sweet smell of freedom out of the house and into my own place and, especially at the moment, to be making enough money that I should have disposable income again instead of trying desperately to stay ahead of my bills.

On the other hand, all that freedom is pretty scary, as is the work (and money!) I'm going to have to put in to get started out there. Off the top of my head, I can think of a number of immediate expenses (wardrobe, money down on an apartment, stuff FOR apartment) and I'm not entierly certain where the money will all come from.
There's also the pain of leaving people behind. In this case, I'm thinking especially of Kristen, but also of my new friends in Rochester. It sort of makes me wants to grab them and hold them tight and not let go.

At this point in time, I am optimistic it will all get worked out and that I am finally on my way towards freedom, which is something most of you know I desperately need.

So... today Kristen and I will celebrate (we're gonna do Jillian's, weather dependant, because we both really wanna do it and, between job and 8 month anniversary today, we have much to celebrate!), but will also talk in depth about things the two of us need to be doing.
Then tommorow, after I go home, I need to call my cousin Freddie who is offering tips and assistance in the move and has some ideas for me.

So... Woot! Job!
Now I have to figure out stage 2 on my plan for world domination: Move Out.
After that... the rest is easy: take over the world, force everyone to bake me cookies and then, of course, to eat the cookie :D
Hee :D

So.. stay tunes, folks. Things are about to get INTERESTING around this LJ. I may even have to resort to posting once or more a day to keep up with it all! (Scary, eh?)

I'm back off to try to sleep.

Well done! :D

Don't worry about the stuff for apartment side especially - you kinda get things as you go. You get what you need, and add, and it's pretty fun :)

So, congrats again!

I'm sort of torn between, "Yay for you! Congrats!" and "Nooo! That sucks! You can't go!"

So I'll go for the middle-ground... Congrats, and I'll miss you.

*hugs*

I left a message for Kirielle, asking her where the ghet-to is out there so you can avoid the icky places. College Park is right by Beltsville.

And easy to get to for me! :)

YAY! Congrats! I'm so happy for you. Don't fret too much about the move, it's a bunch of work, but when everything comes together it will be so rewarding!

Congrats on the job!

And truthfully, all you need for an apartment is a bed, dishes, and maybe a microwave. All the rest can be acquired as you go along :p

Yay, congrats! :)

As for the move, some jobs will pay you some money up-front (which may be taken out of your first few paychecks, or may not) for moving expenses. But I suppose you'll find that out on Monday. :)

***big huge hearty congratulations complete with equally huge hearty hugs*** I agree that it'll be weird having you move so soon into my getting to know you. Perhaps it'll be an excuse to get my family down to that area and show them where I spent a chunk of my childhood! Apartments don't take much to get going. Even just a sleeping bag on the floor is a start. Thrift stores are a great place to find inexpensive but quality bed frames, if you don't mind poring through all the ones that aren't worth the money. Regardless, I wish you well!
