It's 4:15 and a mixture of knowledge that the cats won't let me sleep and my own mind running is keeping me awake for the moment. I hope I can do better after cats are fed.
I've been going back and forth on a lot of things I believe I will and will not miss. Here some of them are...

Things I Will Miss

  1. Knowing how to get my way around the city

  2. My life, such as it is, around here. Even to some extent some of the things I list to the other side, eventually.

  3. The fact that Buffalo CAN handle a little bit of snow and not go all crazy

  4. Long and sometimes odd discussions I have with mom in front of the TV about politics or education or whatever the TV program is about.

  5. Lasertron

  6. Darien Lake

  7. The other three cats (terribly)

  8. Being able to hang with my 'local' friends. Whether it be roleplaying with Todd or playing games with Dawn and Oliver, I will miss that dearly.

  9. Buffalo Wings

  10. Closeness to my family (not living with, but being close to for holidays and such)

  11. Heh. The DVR my mom got a couple weeks ago. I LIKE this thing :) One day, I will want to get something like it :)

Things I Will Not Miss

  1. Lake Effect Snow

  2. Being more out of the way than in the way of most trips

  3. The city of Buffalo, in general. Being in a city so small that it never feels like much is going on.

  4. Leaky pipes leaking into the dining room

  5. Complete lack of carpet in some areas of the house

  6. Living with my family. Cleaning up after them. Dealing with their daily moodiness and laziness and all of that. Just the general negative aspect of actually LIVING with them.

  7. Feeling forced to go the Beach every free Sunday I have

  8. Not making enough money to cover things, forget disposable income.

  9. Also, working in retail. Ugh! So ready to close that chapter of my life!

  10. 5:30 feedings for cats. I will beat this out of them if I have to!

  11. Also, not having a door that closes so I can keep annoying cats and relatives out of my room.

  12. Seeing the kitchen cluttered with more sweets than I could or should eat.

  13. Worrying about Marc showing up out of nowhere to make things uncomfortable for all.

  14. In general, Digital Cable. Having extended stations are good, but we don't need every movie channel and I don't care about digital music stations, really.

  15. Boring Buffalo radio stations.

Somehow I expected the lists, on both sides, to be bigger. Maybe I'll add to them later. Also, it's early and I'm tired, so I may not be firing on all cylinders. Still... well.. partial list.

PS: Yes, you will note I DID NOT add Kristen to the list. The reason being.. well.. it's bloody GIVEN, innit? That and I hope I won't miss her too badly and that she'll be in Maryland soon after me.

Dude, those colors look nice on your journal, but horrid on my friends page.

Just so you know.

Dear god. Yes, they do.
Well, your fault for using the white text on black background ;)

Might want to force black text, if you're going to force background colors for the boxes. :)

*nod* I'm with Janine. I had to highlight the text to read it on my friends page. *You're* the dork using grey text on light grey background! s;)

Hey Howard, I was cleaning up the apartment over the weekend and found an answering machine that I'm not using. Do you think you'd want it for the new apartment? It's a pretty good machine, small and compact, but we have a machine built into the phone right now.

Yeah. Sure. I could probably use an answering machine. Do you have my contact info? (email etc.) so I can get said machine from you since New York City is not on the way I've been suggested to go to Baltimore (by Mapquest)
