The State of The Job

OK, so I still haven't heard from HR, but I called someone else in HR I met Thursday (Dorka (sp?) ) who told me it goes like this:
1) They contact my references. Either ask for a reference or ask them if things on my resume are correct (for example, that I have a BS in Environmental Engineering). This doesn't worry me at all as I know the teachers who I listed as references genuinely like me and that nothing on my resume is incorrect. I may have 'empowered' the language (e.g. "Demonstrated probable misalignment of a permeable reactive barrier with respect to natural groundwater flow via analytic element method analysis " instead of "Modeled a permeable reactive barrier to see if water was, in fact, passing around it"), but it's still completely true.
2) Then the managers (who DO like me and want to hire me) and the recruiter (The H.R. guy I've been talking to) look over the references, decide, for certain they want me and, if they do, hammer out an offer.
3) The offer is sent to me in letter form and then I'd sign it and fax or send it back (probably fax it)
4) H.R. gets the fax and begins to figure out orientation and I start working on packing and moving.
Unfortunately, the recruiter is currently out of the office for the day, but he should be back in it tommorow, so hopefully I shall hear from him then!
So... I guess it MAY be premature to have said I have the job, but it's also looking probable.
I hate the waiting and I'm not terribly patient, but another day or two won't make any difference in the long run. Just so long as I have the job.
And, anyways, now that I understand the plan, I can see how it was entierly unrealistic to expect they'd hammer something out by yesterday. So.. I can be patient a LITTLE while longer :)
Hopefully I hear from him tommorow :) Y'all know that as soon as I do, I'll post (probably locked down since not everyone needs to know how much they are offering me! :) )
Time to change laundry and call my dork :)
