1) After I can't imagine how much work,
mark finally figured out what went wrong with my journal import and fixed it. I have my livejournal in it's entirety here again. :) Now to go back to porting over my CC stuff..
2) Suggested a place and time for the DC Metro Area Open Beta Party. Hopefully it works for everyone. :)
3) Heard from friends about possibly getting to see the Hoover Dam while I'm in Vegas next month. Would I be interested? Well, let's see... large large river, huge hydraulic structure.. mmm.. yep! :D
4) DW Seed Accounts Going on Sale - K and I will probably both get seed accounts. :)
5) One of my cases of Doom in the City of Atlanta FINALLY went out after what felt like an interminable amount of back and forth between the requester (who didn't know what he was doing), me and the FEMA reviewer. It's done! Huzzah!
6) I went back to the gym yesterday. I put on one of my Disney podcasts and started walking, so that when we finally do get to WDW in October, I'll actually be able to handle all the walking hither and thither.

Date: 2009-04-29 11:53 am (UTC)which is exactly why I want a seed account. pay once and then never have to think about it again. I have to say, I prefer the way LJ offered permanent accounts - limited by time, rather than number.

The problem with the permanent accounts was this: We stopped mattering to the people making the decisions. We'd already bought our accounts and were thus no longer an income stream for them. Then when it was time to make decisions about the way the site would be run, they stopped caring about us, and since we were paid for life, we could no longer "vote with our wallet."
It *IS* more inconvenient to have to keep paying for a service, but.. for them, and for you, it's a yearly/six month VOTE, basically.. is this site good enough to continue to support, or would I rather just spend my money elsewhere?
So I can see it your way, because it is more convenient to do it once and never worry otherwise, but I see why they want to do it this way as well...
