The Road to DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

Anyways... K and I have been idly oggling the HDTVs for a while, ever since the prices came down to reasonable.
The "Story" as such starts last Saturday. As so far, we had an old 'switch' (it wasn't really a switch) that connected our digital cable and our Wii OR DVD to our TV. This switch had just one input for a composite (Yellow/White/Red -> Video/Audio Left/Audio Right) cable, so any time we wanted to switch between the DVD player and the Wii, we walked over, unplugged the one set of cables and plugged in the other side of cables.
On Saturday, however, the switch started to break. By Sunday, we were using a catnip mouse to jimmy one of the cables in to actually SEE a picture on the Wii. By Sunday afternoon, we were braving the Holiday crowds to get to Best Buy and get a switch. The crowds sucked, but we got a chance to look at their selection of HDTVs DOOM and returned home with a switch that.. worked, more or less.
However, the switch now caused a problem we weren't having before. The sound from the Wii and the DVD was Bad. Really bad. Liked.. interfered with and just.. off.
I hated it. It ruined my game.
Interestingly, and perhaps just.. one of those things, on Monday I called Cox (our cable company) up to ask if we can get a DVR unit. They asked if, for $1.50 more a month, we wanted to upgrade to the HD model. After discussing it with K, and with the expectation we'd probably have an HD TV somewhere near the end of month, latest, we agreed.
Yesterday, I got notification that I was getting.. a sizable Holiday Bonus from my company. I called K up and said "Hey.. I think we should get that TV."
So...
We now own a Sharp 32" 720p HDTV DOOM!
We set it up last night and I threw the Wii on for a little bit to see what something we'd recognize would look like on the HDTV and Oh. My. GAWD. It was GORGEOUS. Sounded gorgeous too! :D
