I'm thinking that, assuming that livejournal sticks around for another four years, I'm probably going to continue to post some major political rants.
I'm thinking, all things considered, it might be worth it to not piss off everyone who reads this LJ, so I think I'm going to make a Politics filter. Who wants on?

EDIT: It occurs to me.. I've had this LJ for a little over three years (probably closer to three years, three months). I've never used a filter. I've posted rants, not just against bush and other local politics, but on topics such as equality, education and my vision for a better America. (OK, I'm being nice here. Most of my rants can come off as stupid and small-minded, even if I'm not trying to be.)
But I guess I feel like things are different now. I may have already upset at least one friend by my political spouting and I can still feel the need to go through it and over it a little bit more to really feel ready to move on.
So.. yeah.
Three years and three months later, time to start filtering posts.

Yesterday you suggested that it seemed like it was only the states not directly threatened by Al Qaeda (ie, the coasts, mostly) who had voted FOR Bush.
However, Al Qaeda is vowing war against only those states who voted for Bush.
I'm not sure if we can believe Bin Laden (I don't, not at face value), but it would be.. interesting.. if the next attack were aimed, not at New York and Washington, but at Ohio or Florida or even good old Texas.
It would be interesting indeed.
